So I was just wondering how many of all you played WAR. Who were you, what faction, what class, server, maybe even what guild?

I myself was Kabis, a Chaos Zealot from Gorfang.

How about the rest of you?

    Go Destro!

I played it but not for very long. I can't remember the name of my server either

I think I played it for about 2 months into launch and then I gave up because the zerg-gameplay lost its appeal to me and stabbing doors got boring

Yea, the facing down a zerg seemed to be an issue on all servers. Early on in Gorfang it was like that to with Destro (Destro had the zerg). But later on they started combining servers so it evened out a little bit better. But I loved taking keeps and RvR.

Played for few years since early start till addon with skavens on Karak Norn for Order, 80RR Ironbreaker and Slayer, 70+RR Rune Priest plus few low RR humans, I also had one 40+RR DoC on Karak Azgal as well. I still keep the best memories about time spent with friends on the fields of WAR and I still keep an unresolved grudge against EA for poor management and hard pushing over most promising MMORPG of recent times.
    R.I.P. WAR.

I've played WAR for a year or so, started back in closed beta.
WAR had so much wasted potential...but still...It was the only game I really enjoyed playing a tank (BO) so much.Actually the BO became my favorite class of all-time. I was lucky enough to be part of an organized guild in the main alliance on my server, so the keep/objective grind, was not so much apparent to me for some time, since there was a strategy going on, not a zerg group of headless chickens grinding...

Then came the BW/WP bomb squads...still held strong...then came the drama...I got bored, and of story...:p

Nice. I think I only got my Zealot up into the 65-69 RR area. And I'm with you on the EA grudge. The game could have been so much more if some decisions were handle just a little better, if even handled at all.

Lol. Forgot all about the Bright Bombs. Every now and then on Gorfang we would end up running by a guy boxing. Kinda frustrating at first, but after a while he just turned into some easy renown.

And early on I joined a guild called Damage Inc. We were one of the groups thr zerged, but our guild leader at the time was pretty good at organizing us which made it fun. Luckily the order we faced were actually pretty good, and would make us work for what we needed despite lacking in army numbers.
  8. I played it from launch up until last year, around the time they nerfed how Chosen's quake mechanic worked, along with a laundry list of other PVP nerfs/changes that none of the players wanted.

While I loved the ORVR system, and feel WAR had the some of the best PVP on the market, I was always amazed(in a bad way) by the Developer's huge, across the board nerfs and changes to game mechanics. If WAR would have had the long term staffing and development Blizzard put into WoW, I think Warhammer Online would be one of the top 5 MMO's of all time, and would be still up and running.

100 Choppa, 91 Disciple of Khaine, 72 Bright Wizard, 75 Shaman, 70'ish Chosen, 60'something Warrior Priest, 60'something Zealot, 60'ish Squig Herder, 40 Black Orc, 35 Ironbreaker, 30'ish Slayer, 30'ish Blackguard.

There's also the fact that EA virtually pulled the plug and abandoned their player base after the Tomb Kings expansions with the game only being out a short time. But that's how EA does business. EA did the same thing with Medal of Honor Warfighter and many other games. Imagine how World of Warcraft would have turned out with EA at the helm... one minor expansion post launch then maintenance mode... that's would have been WoWs obituary.

I played till RR84-85ish, right after the skaven expack. With all the flaws with balance and the terrible mismanagement by EA it was still one of the best PvP games I have played to date. I think that's the most bitter pill I have had to swallow.

Like others have said such potential with no mirrors classes and ORvR with decent instances pvp. I think if they had let it stay in beta to fix most of the problems they took to launch and been able to perform there balance passes on time the game would still be alive and kicking today.

    ps slayer, badlands, same name

During beta , things looked great at start, they even heard the beta testers and reworked on some things, on the beta round before I got in they even redesigned the Orc/goblin starter area after beta testers asked for it...but then we got very little time to test the really important stuff, like max lvl RvR and balance under "real conditions", IIRC it was a 2 day stress test, that's it...I guess EA stepped in and moved things up...
