When are video games ever about needs?
  2. Could still be used for a content patch or expansion. Don't worry they're not completely out of the running yet.
  3. Once they see that the all important you has an opinion, I have no doubt they will drop everything just to talk to you.

Well I was under the expectation that BTs would be at least given a chance considering the devs where using this poll on facebook as a diffusing mechanism for people getting angry about BTs not being in.
  5. sorry, I lol'd, nothing against you matt

This thread will be here when the Devs find time in their days to answer my questions.

In the second part of today's AMA about 2 questions in I asked if the Black Templars would specifically be in the vote for the 5th chapter to be voted upon as they are currently the most popular choice on the forums and David Ghozland stated that it would be "too hard" to implement them because they don't adhere to standard codex astartes organization. The problem with that excuse is that neither do the space wolves and they're already in the game. Whether they will be in that vote or not will depend solely on the fanbase supporting the Black Templars as the answer wasn't a direct yes or no but more of a "most likely no but we're not sure" kind of answer.

  8. I'll clarify. Not "too hard to implement" but "more work to implement correctly."

The Black Templars are notably different in structure, look and development than other chapters. Much like the Thousand Sons, for example.

You could reskin existing models to put their colour scheme in simply, but the devs have been clear that's not how they want to do things - if factions are different, they want to implement those differences. The more differences, the more work - which is why we have four confirmed undivided legions and no chaos-god specific legions on Chaos side, and every "will we get juggernauts" or "what about god-specific mutations" was answered with variations on the lines of "I think that's a post-launch thing".

It's a question of resource and time, and the clear sense we got from David in both AMAs was they would prefer to move the elements that are more work into "post-launch" as a default position.

On the good news note for the Black Templars, the space wolves are also non-standard. And they're in. And nothing has been ruled out yet.

Corvus - not Frapsing the whole session, just the responses to certain q's. This would have been one. Using Audacity to record would have worked just as well. I'll try that for the next AMA is it turns out Behaviour don't record and post up these sessions themselves.

  9. ah yes. this would be more wise than the largest AVI file in the history of mankind, hehe
