This was mentioned in the second AMA. David Ghozland mentioned that the Black Templars were very different to the other Space Marine chapters, much like the Chaos Legions dedicated to a specific god. As a result, that would be a significant challenge for them to undertake - and a reason for them not being in the original selection. He didn't rule out Black Templars, or say that they wouldn't be allowed as an option in a poll. However, the developers never promised a fully free choice on the community-chosen faction either, as far as I know. Clearly the legions / chapters / craftworlds, etc. that are more varied from the standard template will be more work for the developers when they're going to have their hands full as it is. It was very clear from both AMAs that their preference was to tackle those types of challenges post-launch. But no chapters / legions / craftworlds were categorically ruled out. Edit: Seems like two of us have different recollections. Wish I'd FRAPSed the session, now. Anyhow, we may need someone else's memory to confirm - or a dev to drop by and clarify.
How would they too hard to implement? What is so hard to create ingame that they cannot make them work? Is the Emperors Champion a incredibility difficult character to create because its rule are too complex? Tell me who in the Black Templars is so intricate and complicated that they cannot be added, please tell me so I can stop this thread?
I think you're taking this too hard man. I have yet to see the Twitch stream but from first impressions, it seems as if while his reasons might be weak, that could have more to do with the story that McNeill and Reynolds are cooking up. And that can't really be divulged at this point
So McNeil and his apprentice are the deciding factor on the fifth chap being added? Then whats the point of giving people the chance to vote?
