i like the way it seems to be going Each player earns resources and can spend them to become a hero unit with vastly better skills compared to ordinary classes. so slightly overpowered but as long as every single person isn't allowed to become hero units at the same time it will be fairly balanced. perhaps only so many hero units per faction in each battlefield. i can already foresee some (insert hero unit here) appearing and kicking so much ass that the other factions either team up or everyone is going to zerg the heros. I don't agree that we should be able to stay as these hero units indefinitely, as much as i want to run around as a dark apostle screaming my devotion to Lorgar i think its unfair if i always get to be him, it ruins the fun of it. I Dont think other players should have any say whatsoever if i decide to spent my points to become a hero unit. it will lead to certain players always becoming them due to their friends etc nominating them or something. As long as there is a limit to the amount of heroes in each battlefield they shouldn't become to overpowered unless one faction heavily outnumbers the rivals. But that's what the 'Nids are for, i think i saw somewhere that they will target all factions ofc but will perhaps work harder on factions that are dominating, if that's the case the 'Nids heroes could aggressively go after player controlled hero units if there are any on the field.
As tempting as the idea of playing Sterngard veterans is, the idea of playing a Techmarine is still extremely appealing. It can likely be put down to multiple sessions of Kill Team.
I think Sternguard would be a close second for me. The lascannon is definitely my current favorite on Space Marine as I'm sure that you've found out Hermit haha. I remember cursing your name in a few SM matches.
I think the librarian option would be very cool, but then you run into the issue of chapter specific powers as far as the blood angels and wolves are concerned.
I'd go techmarine any day. I have a preference for tech-based classes, and the techmarine was my favorite Space Marine hero throughout the Dawn of War II series. I heard that you can't be a techmarine all the time, but if I could play a low-ranking techmarine with some limitations and a chance for a temporary promotion with more powerful war-gear, I'd be happy with that. They could do that with all the specialist classes, but then you'd have a problem of too many specials and not enough regulars. Darn. Still, techmarine all the way.
It is? Good, i'd like to see them the most... In fact i think i'll make it a habit to prioritize and kill them.
