I think it would be nice to have my own battlesuit as a Tau.
But I'll be waiting for Dark Eldar.

IG, I'd love to play just 'ordinary' humans in the midst of all this madness!

Before I'd read my way through this thread, I was unconvinced as to how they could be implemented, after reading Rasczak's post though... I can't wait :)

As to what I think will be the next race to be released, I'm thinking Tau possibly - another race I'd like to play!

Playing "simple" soldiers would be an interesting change of pace after the elite.
    ..but stressful

I don't really think that there is something stresfull in driving sentinel and stomping marines\orks hard.
  5. Necrons FTW!

The other races might have more maneuverability, they might employ better tactics, but the warriors of the C'Tan will not stop. Drop one in battle and it will rise again, destroy our soldiers and they will be reborn in a new shell.

    The Necrons Will. Not. Stop.

That's at least how I picture them as lol.

They are just empty slave shells, sucked dry by their everhungry masters - C'Tan, that crave the energy of live beings. "Soldiers" are just there to provide, against their will (which they now lack anyway), tricked by their false "gods".

Mindless constructs they are, made of necrodermis with crumbs of personality warped and twisted beyond repair somewhere deep inside those lifeless eyes.

Our chapter will grant them final peace, the concept of which they won't be able to fathom
But such is the final decree
    Blazebro and Hellga like this.

That was old Necrons. New Necrons are different.

  8. Not mindless, but beings of pure, single minded purpose. While the armies of the Imperium chant to their god-emperor, while the hordes of chaos cry out to their warp spawn masters, the Necrons stand silent, unmoving.

Just as the universe had endured; eternal in the silent void; so to shall the servants of the C'Tan. As ageless as the stars, the silent guardians of the C'Tan have existed long before the dawn of the emperor, before the gibbering madness of the warp was given form. And shall endure long after all others have turned to dust, long after the tumultuous cries of life have ceased, and cold, simple silence of death once again reigns supreme.

    * Edit * I like the Chuthulu-esqe vibe of the old Necrons to the 'Tomb Kings in space' motif of the new.
  9. they had better not have necrons. They are so much better as npc's--the only sentient ones are necron lords and the like--and there really isnt room to improve other than for the lords--as you cant unlock new gear for a warrior. The races that they had BETTER include later on are dark eldar and tau/kroot. Those are extremley easy to include and are awesome. The IG would be cool but...how would you balance that with space marines without just breaking lore? even karskrins are not the equals of tactical marines. Grey knights are just...no. they are basically space marines...BUT WITH MOAR BETTAR SPESS MEHREENS!!! LOLZ KALDOR DRAIGO KIKED MORTAREEONS ASS! *BLAM* Heresy!

The basic grey knight is basically like a tactical marine. An all around unit. However, they can consistently out shoot a tactical as they have guns that are better in every way, and can beat assault marines in close combat, as they have CC weapons that are better in every way. Thats like a tactical squad being able to consistently out shoot a dire avenger squad (which is ok--them outshooting tacticals, which are not a specialist unit, is ok), and also be able to take on howling banshees and perhaps even striking scorpions in close combat. Grey knights should not be included. At all. Unless its in a very slight way as a part of the space marine faction and was greatly limited--but we are talking about new factions, so yea.

  10. should have included combinations--i want both dark eldar and tau, as they are relativley easy to implement. The Grey knights and sisters of battle are too similar to the space marines, and we want more unique factions!
