That really does sound horribly underwhelming and poorly balanced and it just kinda ruins the lore just a little bit too much.
The lore is based on the tabletop. In the tabletop, if a squad of necrons goes down, they go down permanently. I am trying to suggest a way to implement them getting back up, that mirrors tabletop mechanics, because again, the lore is based on the tabletop. So, maybe instead of just saying "That doesn't work", make some suggestions.
tyranids made playabe, even tho i understand why the devs haven't done, hopefully they can find a way in later versions
Why should the Tyranids be controllable? They're being operated by a darn godlike Hive Mind. It would ruin the feel of the game if a Carnifex was running around using emotes.
Genestealer Cult is one good way to have a Tyranid army. In order to have a standard Tyranid as a player it would require removal of the hive mind. There have been independent Tyranids before The Red Terror, and Old One Eye are two that come to mind. So it isn't inconceivable that EC could have Independent playable tyranids, but it is unlikely.
