Get that Bolter with the scope. It's really overpowered. Frankly, every weapon with a scope is far more powerful than the ones without.
For the bolter just take the basic one and buy your 15 1k boxes to gat mods it will get better quite fast. Melta is indeed something useful against vehicles.
Nah just gotta make sure their attention is elsewhere. Also small tip in regards to teamplay for anyone. When you see your buddy with a Melta heading towards a vehicle, ESCORT them there. This allows you to do two things: 1) You can distract the driver, even just ineffectively bouncing your bullets off a tank will often get their attention (have cover close by) 2) If the driver does realize he is about to get roasted and jumps out, you can just get a free kill on him now. This doesn't require voice comms or anything, do this all the time in pugs, just pay attention to melta wielding buddies.
Anything but the bolter at current patch. Point capping = storm bolter. Shoot those defenders who charge you head on! Take frag nades to clear those wall campers. AV= meltagun. For max effect bring a meltabomb too. Cuz those transports GOTTA die. All rounder= plasma. You want to go total tactical? Cap/shoot/break vehicles/lob AOEs? Plasma is your friend though be warned it excels at none. Consider bringing meltabombs.
Meltagun, and make sure you ahve the loadout with it. After that go for anything you want, but lascannon helps for fortresses.
Meltagun, then spam 1k Requisition boxes in the store to mod your bolter. You can then effectively engage vehicles and infantry. After that, choose as per your taste dictates and bring ruination upon the Enemies of Mankind.
