I'd have to cast my vote for Dark Crusade. Honestly DoW2 just didn't do it for me, if it isn't an RTS don't market it as one.

I loved DoW 1 more than 2... it had more great lines, the regular strategy was more fitting for me. Though i got used to DoW 2, and enjoyed it, it still wasnt on the same level of joy as the first one. In DoW2 retribution the greatest feature was the steam addition instead of the horrible games for windows live system. Otherwise... just bad. It felt like too hastily thrown together into a pile, without any kind of love.

Dark Crusade. I loved playing as the Necrons and instantly rushing the mobile citadel (of who's name escapes me.. help?) and then completely smashing my enemies to bits.

You mean the monolith?

Get a Veil of Darkness near one of those(they are Monoliths btw) and watch your enemies tears.
Myself i enjoyed DC a lot,especially with the firestorm over Kronus mod.

That's the one! The Monolith. It was basically unbeatable.

What difficulty?

I always played on Normal or Hard. As long as you had a few Necron Warriors & some Pariahs as back up, as well as the C'tan upgrade for the Necron Lord you could just rain death.

If you had psykers around you could take it out pretty easily with a baneblade.
