Ok I do not get all this hate for the the Black legion they have plenty rich and interesting lore (even if GW likes to keep changing the lore) Also to all the people saying that the Night Lords don't worship demons. What? I have read both the omnibus and some of the stand alone novels and all they say on the matter is the despise outright worship of chaos god. Note that does not include individual demons or private worship just overt worship. kind of hard to have demon princes if you don't have any help from the warp.
I like to think of the Night Lords as very pragmatic, doing whatever they think will allow them an upper hand and anything to win. Of course, summoning the occasional demon or growing a few spiky parts for the sake of being more terrifying might be part of their playbook, but it's not something they do as a whole or condone as a Legion. That said, they don't worship any Chaos gods or demons. Chaos is a tool to them, to use to secure an advantage over the enemy that wouldn't go so far as to use powers like that. Onto the original topic, I think my first and main character will be a Night Lord, because I generally like their attitude and approach towards things. Or at least until the Emperor's Children become available, because Blastmasters.
Well i wanted to play as Alpha Legion because they echo my way of thinking and i respect thier true reason for falling in with chaos, With them out of the picture for now i guess its Black Legion.

I still respectfully disagree that seem to have been what their original but as we saw in the book with Zso Sahaal Night Lords in the 41st century had gone beyond using chaos as a tool and fully embraced all of chaos and what that entails. I know this is being nit picky but it just bugs me that people think that a traitor legion living in the eye of terror can be uncorrupted by chaos and use it like a loyalist librarian would.
I don’t think anyone haaaates the BL. Well except the goofs who still claim Failbaddon was aiming to take Terra with the crusades. But they think Black Legion = Sith Ultramarines and nothing is further from the truth BLs aren't 'vanilla'. They're basically a composite of every other legion cobbled together under the leadership of the SoH minority. It's like if the Ultrasmurfs had access to Deathwing, Death Company and the other cool LSM units rather than the generic list. You like WE, DG, EC or TSs ? Not only do they have specialized god cult warbands like the Khornate Hounds of Abaddon or Slaaneshy Children of Torment etc, but chances are that the dedicated BLwarbands have just as much Mortarion and Magnus geneseed as they do Horus'.
Jup i know. But i don't care, i like the fluff about them, anyway, or maybe because of that? Abaddon is so famous he can "collect" even those, who gives there soul to one specific Chaos God. I think this is somekind of impressive. I hope my english isn't too bad, i'm sorry if it is. D:'
