True to dat. Speculating on the grim darkness of the far future only adds to the appeal to of the hobby. Each fight is a personal piece of history- GW will never want to take that away.
If it were old 'cron 'dex I would say necrons start harvesting the other races, awakening incredible technologies previously unseen (like at the start of the Novel "nightbringer" where the cairn tomb ship is literally sucking up a star and dropping off the energy to the planet below. No organic races means no chaos, everyone is happy. But since it's new 'cron dex I don't even know what is going on with them anymore or I am just gonna go with WAAAGH DA ORKS! DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA WAAAGH!
Actually your "Nexus Pyon's" would cut off realspace from the Warp, but they Eye of Terror would be unaffected by that SOOOO the Chaos Gods would still get their fill from their followers....
Agreed. That old codex was great stuff (the page long story at the back was pretty much how I would think the galaxy would turn out). Mat Ward made everything too crazy, I liked the implacable evil they were before. But hey, at least they got a decent new 'dex with a bunch of cool new units. I'd have hated it if they got the Sisters of Battle treatment.
Plot will never advance. Even if they do that whole "Everyone fight and we'll make it up as we go" type tournament. Besides, it'll only focus on the Black Crusade because it seems to be the only thing GW really cares about doing. Abbadon can't push all of his forces in and the Imperium can't drive him out so it's a perfect time to just make new codexes.
I respectfully disagree Dakka, Abbadon's plan is nearly flawless, if he continues to shed the blood of the Imperium at the Cadian Gate then he can bring the Eye of Terror closer to Terra, if the Imperium keeps killing Abbadon's forces then the same thing will happen since it does not matter where the blood comes from as long as it is being spilled (as stated in the Chaos Space Marine Codex) and btw Mr. Dakka...you are a badass because 1. Your name. 2. Your picture !
I always assumed some sort of Emperor resurrection would happen. Either he dies and becomes a psykic god, or he gets respawned and manages to stabilize the Imperium. Of course, as it's been mentioned in the thread already, I doubt GW has any realistic plans to advance the story. I think the most far-reaching lore we have at the moment is Ciaphas Cain, and that's only because the narrator is living in M42 while she's writing the books.
