  3. Wow, Blood magpies continue to be one of the most divisive topics in 40k to date.

But no, really, there's nothing wrong with the chapter as a whole, especially not with certain marines like Gabriel Angelos. It's easy to blame the Blood Ravens as a chapter for what happened in DoWII, but that's more a case of bad writing, and if you say that the Blood Ravens are terrible for that, you're completely discounting the amazing stories in DoW I. Hell, even DoW II had decent storyline. Everybody just seems hung up on the items, which are primarily just a way of boosting gameplay stats. Yes they could've been made less ridiculous, but they have ultimately no bearing on the outcome of the story, except in Chaos Rising when there was the whole cursed item fiasco.

As for being a mixed up chapter that managed to put the same person in the position of chapter master and chief librarian, we've seen a -lot- worse from chapters that people get a -lot- less angry over. But then those chapters aren't on the front of a pair of popular strategy games.

Funny enough, THQ didn't care to do the same to other races, and had their fun with the lore of actual representatives of other factions)))

I think the Blood Ravens have promise tbh. Anyone who thinks that items are some sort of lore thing are making mountains out of mole hills. It's a nice nod to the rest of the fandom and that's it. Chaos artifacts are chaos artifacts and change the allegiance of the player, but somehow I doubt that is going to be the canon result of dow2 (if they even canonize the events of it).

Fantasy Flight games Deathwatch supplements says that the Blood Ravens won Retribution.

So I really wish they will implemented here, it would make a lot of people happy.

Those who do NOT like the Ravens got 4 other chapters to choose from. One must be to their liking.

    Here we go again.
That's funny. I vaguely remember the Eldar being secretive manipulative shit-heads who would sacrifice humans worlds to save their own kind. See: DoW2

That's also funny. The Orkz enjoyed fighting and dying. See: any dawn of war game

The Tyranids were a swarm of hivemind insects that devoured everything. Seems pretty in-line with lore.

The Space Marines had expensive, flexible armies. Hmm, seems pretty in-line with lore.

And if you're talking about game mechanics (and I seriously hope you're not), then please stop. Faulting a game because game mechanics are not in-line with lore is a waterless argument. Because, by that reasoning, you already dislike Eternal Crusade.

But please, continue with your uninformed disdain for the most popular 40k video game series.

So, you are taking the facts that suit you, omitting everything else))
See DoW2 to find Alaitoc and Biel-Tan forces slaughtering each other over a minor misunderstanding, for example, instead of just talking the thing through.
And by the way, I like both DoWs.

It's part of the Retribution campaign for Eldar. Can't say more precisely. It's been some time since I played.
