Then use a caster? You won't be able to use them in GW stores, but a local gaming group wouldn't mind.

Crons could be really good, although story wise the rank and file are not very talkative or you know independant. Tau maybe better for that?
I would totally play tau, id go all La'Kais Fire Warrior on some Astartes solo and watch as the Imps whined about impossibility
It would be interesting to see how the Dev's try and make it possible for a single Fire Warrior to defeat a Tac Marine. Would love to play a Pathfinder. Though would still prefer IG Shockies to play as. Or a Comissar. OR ELYSIAN DROPTOOPS!
Im sure if you get the drop on any enemy in a 1v1 fight then any character could bring down any other more or less. Although i dont know the specifics i would assume that the Lore-concentrated difference in the game will matter more in numbers when going face-to-face with another player. I would assume that you fire your pulse rifle into an Astartes back long enough that he will die
Or the head, as the armor on the head isn't as thick on the body. And Pulse technology is pretty powerful. So I agree, anyone you can get the jump on is going to have a bad day.
Speaking of shooting Astartes in the back... If we shoot an Astartes in the back for long enough, would/could it cause backpack-powerplant malfunctions and impair their performance?
idk about that but im sure their recycled waste will leak out gross out everyone besides the Nurgle-worshippers
