Indeed.Despite i prefer the ultramarines as my initial chapter, we noobs in warhammer lore, love the Blood Ravens.
For me they are not heretic, just a chaos killer machine at all means necessary. You may not like them but must recognize that they are pretty famous among casual players and readers.
Im fine with this 4 SM chapters, i only did a simple question wandering why they could not be one of the 4 main chapters, and yeah we got fine answers thanks a lot brothers ;) .

THQ-made or not, Blood Ravens are still cool. They are minor Chapter with some mysteries. I like these theories abouit their connection to the Thousand Sons (since they are my favourite of the Traitors) and they have pretty dope color scheme. And still there is sentiment for DoW series...

But I still agree that they shouldn't be one of the playable chapters (not at this moment, maybe later in some add on?) because the original first 20 Legions/Chapters (yeah, I know that before heresy they were all legions) are more important.

    When THQ died.

    So did the Blood Ravens....

Which ever company bought the rights to the DoW series got there name as well. Untill then the name is just being held under the series by GW.

They're cool, I guess. Dawn of War is one of the things that got me in to 40k but as soon as I did, Blood Raves went out the window. Every First Founding Chapter, traitors included, are cooler than Blood Ravens to me now.

I have nothing against Blood Ravens, even think they have quite nice backstory, but my opinion is not valid, because I have not followed 40k since I was born.

Some tolerance, guys, a lot of people know of wh40k only because of Relic`s games and because of Blood Ravens.

But I agree, they shoudlnt be in EC, not anytime soon, if ever. They are a minor chapter doing their minor things in their little sector. And they are probably in a pretty bad shape atm, trying to survive.

The Blood Ravens had an Index Astartes article WAAAY back in the day. All the people who are saying that the Blood Ravens were THQ/Relic only are either trolling or don't know their lore. Though the article is pretty bare bones compared to what we know about them now the article does lay down some foundations for the chapter.

They were created by Graham McNeill nonetheless.

The Secret Masters and Librarians in command positions (because that never goes wrong)

Gabriel Angelos is stated to be the Chapter Master. So this article is AFTER the events of DoW II even though the article was made years before DoW was ever made.

Mysterious history. It is all there.

What Relic did was take a little known chapter that had some secrecy issues, made them hair-etical and made some awesome games and lore. They are the video game chapter, I certainly support them in a bid for another chance of making a name for themselves in this campaign if so that the entire game is populated by first founding chapters... and yes I do consider Black Templars to be one of those kind of chapters.

The Blood Ravens were featured in White Dwarf issue 305, published June 2005.
Dawn of War was released in 2004.
