Yes, they could choose a better name... But I can't imagine the BR with an other name Of course BR aren't the only chapter with a rip-off name: lots of 2nd and 3rd founding chapters have similar names to their main chapter....
The lore of W40K has more grey areas than actual known facts...GW promotes creative thinking and new chapters on TT by the use of these grey areas. So Blood ravens are just fine as a chapter and as part of DoW, even with some exaggerated stuff, made to fit that specific game's view of W40K. For EC, starting with the 4 more iconic and known chapters of W40K, is the most logical and reasonable thing to do...perfectly fine. If Blood ravens make it in at some point, it's fine also...just keep the exaggerated and borderline stuff (made for DoW's gameplay) out and all is cool...
You're right shonedar, I have to say in any case that I have collected more material about BR from here than in other websites... It's quite interesting to see that here, in a videogame's forum I can learn more than in official websites... There is always to learn... Hehe. Well the special rules for them where IF I recall correctly counter-attack and furious charge, and something with librarians. At some other point they also gave rules to two of their characters. Boreale and Chapter Master Angelos. I think I even have them around somewhere... Boreale is 100+ points and CM Angelos is 200+ points.

I've to say that nobody has counterattack and furious charge.. But there are lots of other rules. Only Angelos has got lots of special rules. It's not easy, but writing a codex it's quite interesting
Only Chapter Master Angelos and Captain Boreale, are the ones GW made, the rest of them are fanmade as far as I know.
The special characters are Angelos, Apollo diomedes, kyras and archarius ravenholm (as father librarian, not as primarch or something like that) and for the special sergeant I shall put in only Thaddeus (too many special characters) Of course all of them will be quoted in the chapter history
