Did he? The only THQ thing I saw on the subject was the tweet Space Marine's EP gave on the subject. Even if Titus himself isn't canon, the events on Graia with the WAAAGH and the Chaos incursion are.
approved yeah i know the gaia story aswell and that titus story must be real + captian titus is fking awesome even if he is an ultrasmurf i want to see more of him
guys we all do love and hate the blood ravens the ones more the others not but Gabriel Angelos is a fking G. he is the best Example of being a Space Marine i mean look what he did in Dow 1 ! and that landin in the last battle against the Tyranids in dow 2 i GOT FKING GOOSE BUMPS AS I SAW HIM ON HIS FRIGGIN DROP POD coming out of it. and the thing that u could even field him !! EPIX !!! not to forget the fight in dow 2 chaos rising he leads his Blood Ravens towards the Chaos forces alongside ure Marines of the 4th or 5th company. And best of all the DOW 2 retribution last battle against azariah kyras to seek redemption and that he got heavily injured by the Deamon that was his Arc enemy who other marine can tell that he has a Deamon that wants u dead ? That and that Gabriel Angelos Purified his chapter Made him more then Worthy to be thier new CHapter master like the ending Vidoe shows u. He suffered enough pain and sorrow in his lifetime to be this badass he belongs to the badass crater of badassattitude ( borderlands 2 joke )

I'd agree, they could have had it take place somewhere else in time, or basically pick any other company and more or less be fine. Personally, would have preferred they use a better excuse that "parallel universe lolz" but alas..
I know the official word is that Space Marine is in a non-canon parallel universe, but was thinking that they could have instead stated that it takes place earlier in the timeline (before Sicarius is 2nd Company Captain), but the appearance of the Blood Ravens and the reference to the Aurelian Crusade (on the bridge near the end of the game) actually eliminates this possibility. Hmm.. I've never thought of this possibility before.. what it takes place much later in the timeline, long after Sicarius is gone?
Space Marine is non-canon. It was confirmed that it was set in a parallel universe because they already have a 2nd Company Captain. That said, just because the Blood Ravens showed up in it doesn't mean they don't exist. Gabriel Angelos was confirmed as Chapter Master. Both the WH40K wiki pages say that not only is Gabriel current Chapter Master, Azariah Kyras was killed and replaced "with the help of the Imperial Guard and Inquisition." Other sources (Like White Dwarf) have said that Gabriel Angelos is current Chapter Master of the Blood Ravens for quite some time. One can assume the events of Retribution either, A) Didn't happen or B) Gabriel Angelos has always been Chapter Master and the Battle-Brothers who followed Azariah Kyras were simply confused and mislead into believing he was Chapter Master. After all, Azariah was a Librarian. However that's a two way street and the conflicting lore (as if most SciFi universes don't have conflicting lore) gives enough reason for people to hate on Blood Ravens and claim they aren't official because "lol internet memes". Here is the Gabriel Angelos wiki page, and here is Azariah Kyras' page.
Why can't they both be true? Azariah Kyras was the corrupted Chapter Master/Librarian but was deposed by the Blood Ravens with Imperial Guard and Inquisition assistance, and now Gabriel is the new Chapter Master and has been for 'quite some time.'? Or has there been specific dates given that overlap?
Just putting it out there: GW has said the events of Space Marine were canon, but the characters that participated in them were not.
