Brent did mention that the color scheme was about to get a new shader. Kinda the 2nd glossy layer of green on the blueish base color as I understood it. Also something about the scales.
I personally think that Eternal crusade has an awesome opportunity to shed some light on the previously mysterious & unconfirmed background gaps of the Alpha legion. I would be incredibly satisfied if there was a mix of the old XX legion -styled convoluted secrecy and the the post heresy warband behavior in-depth scattered among the player experience. To place the Alpha legion on Arkhona just cause it's where the cool kids are these days would be incredibly stupid, a great opportunity wasted.
I would not count on beHaviour shedding any light whatsoever on XX Legion, the secrecy is part of GW plan and they would not give an opportunity to be deprived of it to another company. If ever anyone will bring more detailed info "from backstage" of how XX Legion was and is rolling around the galaxy I would expect it from Black Library, and no other.
Kinda what I'm afraid of. Alpha legion just co-operating with the other warbands. Totally unlike the spirit of the legion.
I just hope they remove those fucking croissant horns. They look bad on Alpha Legionaires, hell they look bad on everything, the Alpha Legion shouldn't look too much chaosy in my opinion. Another thing that worried me was the bronze/gold edges on the Al skin they showed on friday, the edges should be white.
Personally love the Alpha Legion, but I love them because of their uniqueness in the 40k universe. According to current fluff, they are the double (Triple?) agents and they are the only ones who fill that role. So impossible to know and understand that their friends and foes are equally confused. Even the audience to the novels is left somewhat in the dark as to their current intentions. If they were supposed to beings that much smarter than humans, I like that a little mystery is left, otherwise they don't seem as brilliant as GW intended.
Hang on arnt alpha legion a little more intelligent than the rest of the space marine group. Don't they employ some illegal training or something to heighten themselves. Although I may be talking absolute BS
Well they're certainly one of the most pragmatic marines out there. They won't charge you in melee if they can just shoot you in the head from hundreds of meters away. They won't fight a battle they can't win, remember that the battle needs to be won before the first shot is fired. All warfare is based on deception. I for one look forward to playing as an Alpha Legionaire from tuesday on.
