Hey guys, I'm just a bit lost on making some non-preset load outs, and mostly non-tactical since Valrak has a pretty good guide out on his Youtube channel he has also posted in the forums. But my troubles are more with my Assault Classes and my Tactical Anti-Tank setups, I've recently got myself a meltagun and it's really pathetic, when I have a base being seiged and enemies pouring from the vehicle Im dead before the build up and even when I'm not the damage does nothing to what I can see, I am running a meltabomb in my setup for pure anti-tank but it's not enough, should I go grav gun or what? let me know below even post class guides if you have any Much love Nahsti NOTE: I do search these things before posting but I'm always getting outdated content from last year and 2014 assumptions.
By assault classes I assume you mean Jump Assaults, and they are currently the most difficult class to play well since they have the lowest survivability. Get your jump pack upgrades, get a power sword, and whatever you do DON'T rush the enemy head on. You have to rely on using their superior mobility to flank unwary targets and escape since the patch took their face rolling abilities. Don't forget you have your pistol either, it's very effective at close range. Keep in mind that every time you jump, you'll appear on nearby enemy's radar. Yes its stupid, but the devs have always insisted on unnecessary extra ways to detect JPAs. If you mean't Ground Assaults, I personally don't use a shield. I find a pistol more useful. Slap on some gold tier armor and grab a sword. Don't attack the enemy head on if you can help it. You don't have mobility like a JPA but you'll survive getting shot a few more times, so once you attack you're pretty much committed until you or the guy you are after are down. Pistol is your friend if your opponent is competent with melee defense. With either class, don't just spam light or heavy attacks. Vary your strikes, because one or two hits is usually all you need to down an enemy. Don't bother with a melta tank hunter until you have melta bombs unlocked as well. The melta gun is difficult to use effectively until you get the hang of it. Burn the back of vehicles for maximum effect. Definitely don't try to run a grav tank hunter any more, grav weapons are not good at anti-tank unless you're fighting Eldar. Even then, its only useful for slowing their vehicles down while someone else does the actual damage.
Alright thank you, yes I use both types of Assault, my pistol is my life, smart pistol or plasma is what I'm using I use multiple load outs and I'm just not sure if I should add some stamina or stam regen or just stack armour and hp etc when it comes down to the extras I always try to fit in Krak grenade or a health pack, I pretty much use the same builds on Chaos besides the God Buffs they get etc etc, I've never been able to one or two shot anyone, I don't use the power fist I don't have it yet but even with a full Sprint + Hard Attack to the back I cant one shot anyone with a Chainsword or Power Sword/Axe I'm not sure what Im missing I do take the extra Damage and Clash instead of pen because +10 pen is nothing from what I can tell really, am I wrong on this one? Will +10 pen help get those 3 shot attacks? On my ping I've been out melee'd by Dev classes at times and its quite infuriating.
If you get ahold of the Lifesteal mod use that its much more effective than the Clash mod I'd stay away from the Corona and Shockwave generator they aren't quite worth the LP cost for what they do. Only use the plasma if you're rocking a Ground Assault. By the way Axes aren't in the current meta because they, to put it bluntly suck at the current point of time.
Well I actually just got myself a lifesteal mod for power sword haven't got it on my chainsword yet only on Chaos, Yeah I only use Plasma on Ground mostly I have tried it out on my Jump and its served well in clashes against other Jumpers as I can just evade and melt them but the Smart Pistol is much more reliable
Hello there, here some tipps for your Anti Tank setup and playstyle. 1.) The Meltagun (ideally Mastercrafted) on the tactical is your way to go 2.) use Krak-grenade-bundle as your opening (on approach ideally) and basically half of your dps. If you are defending a point and you are close to a supply box maybe even run back and forth and just grenade a vehicle down if it is badly positioned. It takes some training to get the good throws but its much safer. 3.) Adjust your playstyle. Charging straight at a vehicle is not the best approach, neither is to jump it right when it spills out forces. Wait till they attack the point and always hit the vehicle with grenades and melta from the backside (weakest armor). If you are fired upon stay close to the vehicle and circle around it to use it as cover and for your meltagun on cool down. You can melta it while moving. If you were not uncovered use the cooldown period to hide on the side away from the direction the attacker charges towards. Often enough attackers rush in and will simply ignore or overlook you. If the turret gets manned move in closer (after you have exploded your grenades otherwise they might kill you with their splash) there is no heatdamage for you even if you press your gun directly on the metal. TLDR Tac AV Loadout: MC Meltagun (with the Meltagun advancement rank 3 required, otherwise a normal Meltagun), Krakbundle (advancement tree), Tier 2 - Red Armor (advancement rank 3 required, ~ 60 LP leftover or 160 if you dont have a mastercrafted Meltagun yet. Spend it on flat Health- and Armorwargear/-trinkets to buy you some additional time if you get shot upon.
i'd take off the trinkets and wargear 2 for a nice master crafted chainsword, but i can't really justify it for 25 durability (20% armour regen isn't worth 25 durability, so this is superior.) i have increased armour regen on a lot of my loadouts. if you have higher regen its like you have more armour per minute. i use apo as my veteran over ground vanguard now because it's nice having a whole 200 extra armour as apothecary.
