Damn someone beat me to it, this is my favorite quote by far. "Lucky creatures. At long last you have found the tranquility of death. I was like you, once, clinging to life and blind to the truth. When I uncovered the truth, I too shuddered and paled with fear. Deep in these catacombs, I was remade. Here, my brethren slumbered for eons while the living grew like weed. My Lord knew this day would come. He had plans for us all. We would purge this world once more. So come, poor victims of life. We will grant you tranquility in these crypts. Kronus will be a Tomb World once more." - Tomas Macabee, Necron Pariah Ha! The Imperium is a big place, my boy. The universe is always unleashing some new catastrophe, some marauding race. Hundreds of worlds die, but millions more prosper. It matters not. Nothing can truly hurt us here. - Lord Magister Ithax Stroam, Terra "With the blood of an enemy shall the marks be made upon the missile. Then bless the missile and present unto the mounting. Say the prayer of firing and curse the target. Do this rapidly lest the wrath of the weapon be wasted. Point the eye of the weapon so that it may see the object of its wrath. When the weapon has uttered its curse and eaten the soul of its victim, then shall you take up the next missile." - Firing rite "The Imperium! How mighty its aspect! How far-reaching its boundaries! As one world dies ten more are brought into the fold. Fear us, for we count the lives of planets, not men!" "Death stands above me, whispering low I know not what in my ear Of his strange language all I know There is only pain and fear." - Inscription transcribed from the walls of Cthelmax
"With faith as your shield and righteousness your sword, no enemy of the Emperor can prevail against you." — Chaplain Grimaldus Merek <3
Private Malko stared up in wonder as the eclipse manifested with stately grace above him. The disc of the red moon slid across the sun until its rays were no more than a fiery halo framing a dark void. Malko squinted, his brow furrowed as he spotted a point of jade light within. It seemed to split and grow outwards, opening like a mouth or a baleful eye. He fumbled for the comm-link to report the strange vision to Comissar Radczech, but his voice caught in his throat. It looked for all the world like a sharp blade of craft had burst out from the heart of the rift above, impossibly close, and it was soaring straight for him. Another emerged, then another, then a dozen at once, screaming out of the skies like the poisoned darts of a hunter god. Malko stumbled backwards, remembering the stories Goodwife Ingrid used to tell him as a child, grisly tales of a changeling folk who came from the skies to steal the innocent away into hell. "Man the guns!" shouted Malko, his voice hoarse with terror. "For the love of the holy, MAN THE GUNS!"
