Title^ It looks like a sword, its a choppa and it's also a chainsaw. Some say it even gets the stuck-on grease. What is this thing? does it clang with swords or axes? If its an axe it should beat the other chainsaw weapons correct?(chainsword)
I think it's the equivalent of a Chain Axe. It's slower than a normal Choppa but not quite as slow as an actual Choppa Axe/Electrified Choppa Axe.
It doesn't feel slower than a normal Choppa. I used a Choppa whilst saving up for a Chain-Choppa just because I ended up getting Lifesteal on it, and I feel a lot faster using this than the Choppa.
Chain choppa is no different from a regular choppa right now outside of the lifesteal mod. The baseline choppa you start with is a tiny bit slower but all the other ones (venerable, dead shiny, the extra choppa you can get with the spiked handle) all swing at the same speed. They also all do the same damage. Basically, the reason to use chain choppa is life steal. Regular choppa you get better clangs with the handle mod.
Chain Choppa = regular choppa, so you don't want to go clanging a power fist, axe, or maul. Chain Choppa has the exact same damage profile as the regular choppa and everything. The life steal is AMAZING on it and very worth the 100 LP (don't forget to add the 50LP damage mod for a total of a 350LP weapon), it's more Khorne than the Icon of Khorne right now and works great for PvP as well as PvE. Choppa Axe is axe category (this includes the Electric Choppa) Club = Maul/Mace I have to say that I'm really enjoying how the 'lighter' weapons are still very effective, their damage isn't far behind their heavier counterparts at all and they make up for that with faster swing speed, so you have a viable weapon regardless of whether you want to play with a bigger, slower, heavier-hitting weapon vs. faster...in fact, in larger fights with multiple enemies, the faster attack of a chain choppa + it's life steal tends to keep you alive much better, not to mention is better suited in keeping you alive vs multiple targets while you're swinging (since you're not swinging as slow).
I'm pretty sure I found lifesteal mods for the choppa blade and axe as well when Kevin gave us 1million Req to play with on UAT yesterday, so there's no real reason to use the chain choppa, unless its lifesteal is better than the other weapons'. (~edit: yep, 100 points each)
