It also means less people using the text chat to communicate, which is not a good deal given the effect of last steam sales. Maybe just my imagination, but I remember having terrible games around the last one. It's incredible how using this wonderful feature can change the face of a match. "Rhino B", "inc C" etc... doesn't look like incredible strategic exchanges but truly make a difference.
But, we get reinforcements too, right? I mean, most of them will leave for the bolterporn because of how weak the limited amount of gear we already have is, but some will stay. Forever outnumbered, forever underdeveloped.
I was playing Eldar earlier today, 110 vs 110 in the matchmaking against LSM, and yes, SOOO much delicious low toughness new players. It was a bountiful gift. Last I saw LSM only had 4 territories against Eldar. Long story short, lots of instant queues into full lobbies against brain dead new players. Remind players to mark vehicles and be active as a squad leader with marking objective if you are one and the newly enlisted kin hop to it admirably.
I've only played since last week and even I can feel/tell the difference. When I'm against marines that arnt veterans/elites my life as a striking scorpion is much easier. When I see a CSM or LSM assault marine with uber armour and huge power fist....I tend to wait until they are fighting a banshee or someone else then hit them from behind. Especially since it takes like 6 hits to put them down!! Granted. I will eventually be a veteran with better items and load outs and its balance out. Here's something though...what tier of drop box do you get dark reaper upgrades? I've gotten a few shuriken cannons that are different colour, but I have yet to see a grip, barrel or ammo for a shuriken cannon or reaper launcher, tempest launcher etc, and I've bought out all bronZe boxes and I am well on my way to being done the silver boxes.
