1. I propose 2 kinds of ressources: a local one and a global one. You use the global ressource for the stuff you buy at your HQ and you use the local ressource for stuff you buy on the battle-field. The local ressource could be fuel, for example, and this could be used for strategic purposes. For example: Conquer an enemy's refinery and he will have less "local ressource" available in that sector, making it more difficult for him to keep tanks in action. (Alternatively: Availability of "local ressource" determines spawn-costs.) For example: It could be necessary to escort a convoy transporting "local ressource" to a remote outpost, to store it there for an upcoming offensive. And of course, somebody could attack the convoy and steal or destroy the "local ressource" it transported. Or somebody could raid the outpost for its hoarded "local ressource", only to retreat afterwards. (Mission-type: Sneak in, steal or destroy, get out.) 2. I propose running costs to drain money out of the economy, as a balancing-mechanism. ("Money" refering to in-game currency, not real money.) If you make the monetary rewards too high, people will get rich too fast. Even if you make them low, there will inevitably come a point in the long run where money is no longer an obstacle to solving a problem. I look to Diablo III in this respect, where you are constantly nickle-and-dimed for every upgrade, for every crafting. These aren't one-time costs, these are running costs as exploration of game-content (crafting!) is a continuous process! You can play the game as is, but every deviation from the path, every exploration of the available opportunities costs money, and this in turn costs time. I propose a similar model for EC. You can play as is, but every modification, every side-step, will cost money.
i don't know before starting talking about economy let's see "how" they are gonna work on the economy if you understand what i mean
Economy in the warhammer 40k universe is really complex but for military porpoise it could be worse... On a global POV army need fuel, armours, weapons and ammo, food,.. And leaders of vast armies must be masters of political and economical science ( in the imperium) but on a warrior POV? All factions are quite different in the way they see currency exchange. SM- they know about currency and commerce but only because it was reinstall by learning machine ( because memories of past life tend to disappear), they never paid anything from armour to ammo, from bed to breakfast... All needed stuff Is given to fulfil duty and specials are hand made (salamanders/iron hands mostly) or offered as rewards so a glory/renown system should be adapt. CSM- as far as I see they tend to not buy anything, more adept of the I like it I take it not happy that my chains word through your brain and not in this order in every case. Maybe a glory/infamy system could be used. Eldars- one of the race I do not know well enough, so I will let eldars players make their post, but from what I have read a capitalism economic system seem inadequate. Orks- well if they count human and eldar teefs as money their economic system will be pretty easy to do... If not they will have a great need of internal fighting and we will met a lot of toothless enemy, it also won't be easy for mutual understanding.
well, actually, every factions need funds for their campaigns..is just that they are not explained much across the rolebooks. For example,LSM do not buy stuff, correct, but they receive genes and weapons and other things by the Imperium (especially the geneseeds from the bank on Terra). Same goes for Orks, they actually steal everything they can put their hands on but have their barbaric/trade economy (i just remember one elite called "rikkaztri" i don't know the term in english sorry XD but they were something like the richiest of the orks) I like the suggestion and the topic put by zael, simply the fact is that there are a lot of stuff more important to introduce before beta (elites/heroes,PVE,ecc)the economy and a crafting system (i had some idea for this but always thinked can be done later)can wait My two cents
well now,we're trying to have a serious discussion of economy/crafting like or just fooling around? damn heretics and orks....everything for them is only and always slaughter and massacre
