Well with the help and motivation here...and with some backing from @DeranVendar everyone prepare for Some Blood Angels original character rp...with a new twist

  2. Hey all!

So, I have been running an idea through my head, and I have one i am quite interested in.

It would be a VMMORPG (V = Virtual) where the PCs are "time agents" sent back to keep the enemy from changing the past in order to influence the current war. The agent's equipment is the most effective at killing these "time-distorters", and they are disallowed from taking anything with them from the different times. The "souls" and enemy equipment can be taken to smiths for new equipment.

As for equipment, there will be base types (such as a sword). The look of the equipment will be chosen by the player [Feudal Style (European Longsword)" "Feudal Style (Asian Katana)" "Sci-Fi Style (Plasma Blade)" Etc.] in order to personalize the character, the skin being the same no matter what time they go into. The weapon and armor stats would be influenced by which materials are used to create it.

There could also be RL sections if the players are okay with knowing each other in the fake RL.

There would be missions that you can accept from a central hub to gain rewards and experience. The party would be allowed 3 deaths a mission/hunting trip before being kicked out and penalised with the fourth. Or you could make an Iron-Man character. Iron-Man characters gain more/better rewards, level faster, etc... but have permadeath, so one death and you lose that character.

I really hope to get this off the ground and make an amazing system and fluff with @Uriel1339

That's the general "problem" with oWoD, it's not made with casual combat in mind, it's made with telling a story in mind. Being a current oWoD VtM GM, I have a hard time balancing 'combat encounters' around my coterie, which consists of a Tzimisce, a Dementation Malk and a Toreador (just don't ask) - none of which being particularly good at combat, really, but when one of them can just fleshcraft the crap out of everyone, and one adheres to the spirit of the game, what would the point of even sending human enemies after them? A singular human foe can't exactly fight against a Kiss, either, and to give them all armoured collars would be stupid in the context of the setting.

Heck, in the last campaign I played, I was a Sabbat Salubri and pretty much the only muscle in my group, but when you're with a guy who pushes everything into Dominate and another who can basically turn invisible, the ability to swing a broadsword real good seems... not really relevant.

Publicly affirming support of this idea here by the way.

We're turning this thread into a second Tavern though I feel.

@Uriel1339 not so sure.... All the RPs I joined so far died pretty quikly, so I'm a bit too hesitant to dive into an other one, only for slowing see it end nowhere.
Still, I'm tempted to give this a try and I chose the settlement RP.
    In that way, once it comes to the race choice, the good ol' green fellas may get a chance to wreck what you built... ):}

But but but it had lost already :p Custom Chapter had 10 votes first! Soooo that is about that - however, whomever wants to GM something next knows now there is a huge demand for a settlement RP!

You don't really need dice to have a succesful rp. Several on these forums have seen successs without them.

Fun-Thing. Colonization would have won on long-term, but Custom Chapter just had too many, too quick - lol!

    Well said!

As for me despite what Velos said @Uriel1339 although it is true that I had to leave that RP for the legendary "personal differences" ... I would very much like to play an Exodite game again, especially since the premise of that one had such potential as an idea.

Eldar for me. Corsairs might be good. Dark Eldar might be good so long as people can avoid making them "teh druggy seckslordz OMG i am so fetish lolz" that you get ... when bad fanfic writers and Dark Eldar collide. Shouldn't be a problem for people here, I know we have a lot of good roleplayers. I would actually like the chance to play a proper Dark Eldar game. The last one I played here (Kyrana) was deliberately not-serious so was fun but not very authentic. I had a couple or three goes at it over on the Dark City but the games crashed and burned faster than a speeding Razorwing. Heck I even RAN a game on there for a while, but it tanked due to everyone loving to read but hating to actually post.

I have a Haemonculus here at the moment of course, but Haemies are a law/lore unto themselves :D

I might might be persuaded to run a Dark Eldar game again sometime but I would absolutely need a cadre of roleplayers who would stick with it as three-week RPs are heartbreakers!
