With Halloween coming around for the states, it's usually when a lot of classic horror films start airing on TV. Now there are many horror films that are iconic classics like Firday 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, HellRaiser, Evil Dead, Fly, the list goes on. I'm just curious what kind of horror films some of you guys enjoy watching BUT FIRST you must think of ONE movie that scares you, to the point that you can't watch it without someone there or if you have a remote to skip through it. The kind of movie that gives you nightmares. FILM THAT SCARES ME For me the one monster movie that frightens me is the Blob remake from the 80s. Again this is the remake, not the black and white one. The reason: The Blob could go through anything, a crack in the wall, under the door, through the pipes, air vents, you name it. The only weakness is sub zero temperatures and a Fire Extinguisher. More so, this thing has tentacles and speed on it's side, so good luck running away. FILMS I THINK ARE AWESOME John Carpenter's The Thing Apollo 18 Event Horizon Tremors 1 - 3 (i know they made a 4th, but it doesn't hit my list) Hell Raiser 1 & 2 Jaws 1 & 2 The Thing (Prequel) The Fly 2 Dracula Alien and Aliens Predator 2 IT Films that make you laugh or go WTF? Ghost Busters Cabin in the Woods Critters 1 - 4
I also love the thing. I recently watched a movie called pandorum and really enjoyed it, it was pretty scary.
the blob 1988 Ughhh just got the chills, i saw that movie as a kid one late night, one scene got stuck in my mind repeating in comparison to the entire movie, the dishwasher guy tilting his head over the sink then his face is grabbed and pulled into the small hole, i had no issues around sinks, the issue got me for a few weeks when it came to the toilet. As for wtf? Creepy kids show..... Just watch and prepare to go wtf. View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLa0ewGdWm4&list=RD02O9hUMTw4Nj4
I actually first saw the 1988 remake of the Blob at a friends place. It creeped me out when the Blob actually ate, dissolved a kid in the sewer waters. that right there scared the crap outta me, and showed me that movies aren't afraid to kill 10 year old kids who sneak out to the movies. Like you I had that fear of hte toilet for awhile. More so when I was a little kid, I saw Ghostbusters 2 and the scene with the slime in the tub kept me from taking a bath for a while. But OH MAN I so had a WTF moment with this video. I mean that is some lame puppetering. Did they even see the ear hanging on the head before it FLUNG off? You can tell the human actors in the skit are bored out of their skulls and juts want this crap over with XD.
The interesting part is, such an old movie is so horrifying in comparison to any other movie today, oh that slime thing got me going for some time, its just no way to die, i just dont want to die taking a shit of all things in life, just horrible, i can deal with torture and people being eaten by zombies through and through with the guts and all, but that slime thing its just, nightmarish. Now you think that might be bad, but lets go to a real "children's" show. View: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AS4JcTYx0z4 This made me laugh in tears, this is truly one of the most creepiest things ever, this is not for kids but this is for children. Yoga....do it alone its just...no.
Oh man, just the sight of the Jamaican rooster. Yeah I know exactly what you mean man. I'd rather fight off zombies, Jason, Freddy and his claw hand, vampires and killer flies. At least then I have a fighting chance. But the ooze just doesn't offer much in the way of fighting back. But what about movies? What kidn of movies do you enjoy for their artistry? Or just because they're awesome
The ultramarines movie... i mean just look at it and despair!!! I cried at least 5 times while watching that trailer. but in all seriousness it doesn't take much to scare me so I just don't watch horror movies!
Yea lets step away from the wtf we got enough of that. First lets say ultramarines the movie, due to where we are. I am an oldies sort of guy and really love movies which were unique and made it out there. Terminator 1 and terminator 2 love them, Robocop movies awesome right there, Jurassic park just fantastic. Of course Ghostbusters are in there as well, blues brothers, shawshank redemption is just phenomenal, and of course the godfather movies, i just love Don Corleone the first fat guy Mafia boss, he played that role so damn well. 1970 too early 1990, love the movies in that era there were so many iconic ones that really were out of the box thinking with lots of good actors. Silvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Wesley snipes, Eddie Murphy, Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman Clint Eastwood, Tom Hanks. Just so many good actors and the movies were quality over quantity for the most part, the actors really could bring interest towards the movie you were watching. Some of the newer movies have been good, for example the dark knight 2008, got to love the joker when he blows up that hospital trying to make the device work when it stops exploding.
I seen some scary shit man.... I mean, it ain't even funny to talk about. I seen it years ago but it still gives me nightmares today! It's called... The Spongebob Movie. :'(
Salo or 120 days of Soddom is rather, well, out there. Begotten is interesting. The Girl Next Door is sadistic. Martyrs in intelligent. VHS 2 is shlocky. Serbian Film is overrated. Kill List is wonderful. A field in England is trippy to say the least. The Blood on Satan's Claw is great fun. Videodrome is classic. All of these I suppose are what you might call films that "scare" me. Though I've yet to find that truly terrifying film. I've seen thousands. Any recommendations what with Halloween coming up?
