What makes (or could make) Space Marines special?

    Ofc everyone has a right to participate in a discussion but at least people should ,if they want to be taken seriously, waste some of their time in order to learn some things and not simply copy paste shit from some wiki that is full of fanon ...like Cath for example.Or just to post their fannon like Tyrranic.

    Since you love wiki so much ,you forgot to search about units ,that are still active in 40k ,such as
    The Annointed(WB TDA users), Atramentar(NL TDA users ,yes those bastards are still active as per NL trilogy),Bringers of despair (BL TDA users Abbys personal guard) and countless other smaller units or individuals that make use of TDAs.
    Regarding repairing the bloody thing i would advice you to read the NL trilogy were Salamanders TDA is "salvaged" (No the salamanders that were using them didnt survive) and used against Eldar forces.Just like the loyalists repair their own TDAs after someone using one dies.
    Regarding balance and use of plasma cannons ,multi melta and auto canons by the Havocs,Lorewise they have access to those ,where we dont have access to those (as havocs) is in the TT because of balance .
    Now i m pretty sure that soon (90 at least) you (LSM) will get 2 pretty unique ranged options for your TDAs (assault cannons and missile launchers.)Since you know the game is actually still in alpha/beta form!

    Every time u dont agree with someone u call him fanboy or call his theory a fanon which is just rude. That way only one i see here is you, as u dig dirty under every theory which could put chaos under less op situation than it is now. U create u own reality where u can just salvage everythink without any problem for entire fraction, even examples that u pointed are single cases which not make tac dread easy eccesable for every csm who wanna wear it. But its not mine fairytale... NO u just cant salvage to keep numbers on pair with loyalists and thats should be mirrored in game by spawn price or cooldown greater in case of csm, or in some other way. Keeping the game straight lore wise can be more important than you and obviously some devs think for its player base numbers specially with current problems it have with recommendations at net.

    Have to agree, as it is right now, Chaos has a bunch of cool shit in the form of Marks as well as the Click Button Receive Autokillcannon. Orks have the Waaagh! and AoE heal grenades that also damage enemies, already a leg up over our only previous advantage. Eldar are just ridiculous right now.

    Maybe we need a Psyker/Librarian class? One of the main advantages of Eldar/Chaos over SM/Orks is the ranged heal which could be done by a Psyker, and gives us some flavor and asymmetry as a two-healer faction. They can replicate a part of the Chaos Mark system by using Biomancy (buffs to healing), Divination is like the Protect AoE shield for Eldar, Pyromancy and Telepathy can be the offensive stuff, and maybe Telekinesis can be a mobility aide, like we can open portals for teammates to certain points on the map, as well as other shielding abilities.

    when it fits you refer to lore when it doesnt you refer to tabletop also tda is more rare for chaos than lsm multimelta and plasma isnt avaible for chaos in tabletop so why should they have those? and get autocannon when lsm cant have it also i think you will say that csm will need to get missile launchers and assault cannons if lsm gets those. tbh chaos is already overpowered even compared to eldar.

    I'm curious to know what people think sets Space Marines apart from Chaos in Tabletop? Chaos have (edit: ) basically all the same stuff as Space Marines plus sorcerers, demons and so on in that too.

    So far as I can tell, the main difference is they see better squad bonuses, because Chaos are generally individualistic and Space Marines are not.

    So why not really play into that and make the Space Marine squad bonuses really powerful compared to the other Factions', but you need to be reasonably close to your Squad Leader to receive them (not sure if that's already the case for the banner bonuses)?

    I think that the Tactical Marines (and only Tac Marines) should get more reduced equipment costs. Allowing them to use more high end equipment together. It think that this would go a long way towards encouraging more tacs on the field (who doesn't want to play with more cool equipment) and decrease the disparity (a little more survivability and potential for more damage) between them and the 2 capping classes on Chaos. They are supposed to be the most numerous and versatile class- allowing them reduced costs would encourage more players and a bit more variety in gameplay. Specialists/supports like the apoc's, devastators and assaults would still have the same laodout limits.

    If the Tactical's overall loadout costs were reduced by 15-20% it would allow players playing Tacticals to take better armor and weapons and in turn IMO make the class much more prevalent on the field.

    Actually i was among those few that wanted chainaxes and autocannons for the LSM...but also Shields for IW!

    But still allow their GA to cap bo's with it equiped yes?:p
