What Loyalist Traitor Legion Would You Play?

  1. War Hounds. My current World Eaters warband is based off of the idea that a few dissenters and legionaries who refused the Nails still turned to Chaos, resisting the internal decay they brought and placing self control above all else. They might have been butchers, slaughtermen and the ones sent into meat grinders most other legions refused, but they did it with pride rather than screaming insanity.
  2. I kitbashed them together out of a FW Red Scorpions Assault Squad, some Mk IV Legionary pieces, Plastic Assault Squad bits, BA DC bits, Khorne Berzerker bits, plastic Space Wolf bits (which work very well), an Iron Warriors head, Tomb Kings bits, etc. Plus a Maxmini Steam Knight head.
    Nether likes this.

Thousand Sons, Because I've always kinda liked their ancient Egyptian motief
  6. I have often wondered about the origins of some of the loyalist chapters that currently exist. Especially after reading Unremembered Empire. we all know the theory of Blood Ravens being loyalist Thousand Sons, but I also thought Dantioch will probably end up being the originator of the Silver Skulls. Made me wonder how many of the loyalists who joined Roboute's little empire ended up forming the chapters that we know today.
  7. There's also all that heretical geneseed to consider.
  8. Well there was the Dark Founding (13th) around M35/36 that seems to have occurred around the time of the Age Of Apostasy and the Cursed Founding of around M36/38.

It is said that there was experimentation on geneseed and that new Chapters were founded without knowing who their Primarch was.
Speculation on this includes genetic manipulation of geneseed, crossing of it from two different Primarchs, and even that the sealed geneseed collected during the Great Crusade from the Traitor Legions was used.
The Blood Raven's may be from one of these foundings, and but the Minotaurs definitely were.
