Well I mean there's a scene in Dark Creed where a couple Word Bearers get flanked by a Hellhound that immediately bathes them in promethium fire. They did not try to run, or even scream, they just turned and started shooting at it instead of the guardsmen they were butchering instead as they died. Definitely not my idea of weakness. The strength of the Word Bearers is they genuinely don't give a fuck. Why would they? They think of themselves as the chosen of chaos, they don't really fear death because they're convinced they will simply join into chaos or perhaps even become a sentient daemon. Now, this can also be a weakness, as fear and self preservation guide good battlefield strategy, but it also makes them relentless and utterly devoted to their cause. This is also the purpose of a Coryphaus, as when you have a horde of fearless holy warriors you need someone with good sense to set them on the path to victory. Have a competent tactician at the head of such a force and I think you'll find a genuinely terrifying fighting force. And being experts at rending the veil of reality comes in awfully handy too.
All of the Legions together because there are 3 other factions with their own sub-factions on Arkhona with their own players organizing (then add the alliance system), so no sense in singling 1 out against all that. Each sub-faction will have their unique traits, equipment and stuff so all the more reason to mix it up. Well, at least as much as CSM wants to be together. In times of great wars that's often enough with powerful common enemies and greater objectives to achieve. I'm curious if active sub-faction percentages will be shown along with active faction populations in game, like when logging in. Not important to know but would be neat to see what the players choose in the same faction. Could sway some people to pick the highest though under the same thinking as how some players pick the highest faction "A lot of players are this one so they must be good."
Our rivalries should be welcomed, so long as we stay focused on who our true enemies are(ie, not eachother) as a degree of competition amongst ourselves will encourage player performance. Black Legion is right about one thing, our primary unifier is mutual animosity. We want to destroy our enemies, and show to eachother we are the best at destroying our enemies. If each subfaction tries to be the best, then logically they should all end up doing better as a whole. The thing about the Legions is, we all think we're the ones doing Chaos right and the others are deluded in some way. But unlike our Imperial brethren that want all want the top slot as the Emperor's favorite, we don't really care what the others are doing. Does a Word Bearer disdain Night Lords for their apostasy? Most likely, but he also realizes that whatever the Night Lords do is probably going to hurt the Imperium, so they still stand to gain from Night Lords being Night Lords, and the Night Lords would similarly see the Word Bearers as fanatical fools following false gods, but if the Word Bearers are out annihilating Shrine Worlds then they are both inflicting their mutual revenge against their old masters, and providing a great distraction for the Night Lords to do as they please. I don't think it will hurt us to strive to be the best, if a Night Lord wants to one-up me to show their godless ways are superior to we zealots by killing more Imperials than me, then that just means more dead Imperials. Especially since then I'll want to out-do the unbeliever's kill count next battle.
Pretty sure the Alpha Legion has already infiltrated the dev team to get the juiciest war gear in the game. So yeah... Hydra dominatus!
Ironically, so far the best cooperation seems to be happening in the Chaos area of the forums. If that translates to the game, it should be easy for Chaos to dominate.
If any side/faction/subfaction will dominate the game it means the balance is screwed and needs to be fixed. It is all based on the players, clans, etc. If it aint, then to hell with you !
You're both incorrect and a fool for this statement. I have over 50 lore sources in my personal library.
