The difficulty of it is what attracts my interest. To ride the engine and kill whole squads with a click is meh. But imagine the face of the rider when he gets his shit blown up by a couple of folks. Make the rider and ultrasmurf or dark angel for extra juicy content. Titans opperated by AI would be perfect , yes. I think theres not even need for titants tbh , we are asking for waay too much. All i want is a cool gameplay , a nice conceptual design that stays true to the fluff of warhammer , couple of friends on my group and a battlefield full of corpses-to-be. Vehicles will rock too , id love to ride a bike or a KHORNATE JUGGERNAUT MWAHAHA! But , its not like they need to bring EVERYTHING from the warhammer universe in their game. If they overdo it just to please the fans , they might screw it up.
I agreed with you. But my idea is, since the Titans need big crew to operate (maybe Chaos Titans are better for this idea than Demonic engines, Ork Gargant too) so everyone who operates (exactly what kind of operation I'm not clear maybe engine coolant, reloading) one Titan will get xp. Another thought for fun, e.g Emperor Class Titan you may gun it down with tons of rockets or you can have a team infiltrates into the Titan's bridge/engine kill everyone and shutdown the Titan from inside and of course infiltrator cannot control it afterward (some sort of mind fusion of the High Princeps with the Titan prevent this) your team can place charge to destroy engine and it takes time until the explosion, enemies can rush in and rescue their Titan, kind of mini capture game lol. Well just the idea, this sure complicated.
Just saying that vehicles are only one aspect of the game, infantry are considered the main part of the game. As most battles in Warhammer 40k lore involve the battle of hundreds of soldiers fighting hundreds of enemies, in brutal melee rather then firefights most of the time. Furthermore if we had too many vehicles, there's a possibility of zerg rushes with only vehicles like Planetside 2. I have to be honest, infantry rushes are by far more entertaining then vehicle rushes.
Oh I almost forgot, building Titans will consume faction resources (if there is any). One faction has to decide (big contribution/agreement of everyone in the faction there, I see messy ) which Chapter can have control over the Titans and each Titan will cost months to build. That way there will be no swarm of Titans, for the strategic purpose, it is likely you will protect the Titans instead of it protecting you, lol.
Would LOVE imperial guard paratroopers. Provided IG are added that is. think about it. jumping out the back of a valkyrie en masse, dodging enemy fire and landing atop a building to do some damage in a huge cityfight That is aircraft get added too....Finger crossed. Hopefully they're not Bleh like planetside's aircraft too...
Going back to my previous statement, titans would need to be as balanced as TF2. At least after they had that massive update that nerfed my liberty launcher ._.
Wouldn't it be best to balance the infantry combat first, then build it up from there and balance out the vehicles, then titans and aircraft?
I don't think Titans should be player controlled, too much god-like power... I'm excited at the thought of Cult troops, but I see the sense of making a god spec of each instead
