I agree terminators need to be in it, and need to be restricted. But how to do that without some sucky first come first serve mechanic? Id suggest they balance terminators enough that not everyone wants to be one. Make them slow but able to deepstrike some distance, or make their ability tree take more EXP to learn, or if theres costs to the gear, make them cost more.
Interesting thought. Khorne Berserker is a specialized unit I would love to play as, but if it's a bit more generic than that, I would likely play an assault troop with my buddies. A marauding band of jet packers to just jump down and end your day.
I think it would be interesting if they made your class a byproduct of your loadout. Adding Chaos Marks as a perk type choice would greatly facilitate that. Mostly, I don't want to -have- to go Khorne to be a melee character. Even if cosmetics are the same between classes, a Slaaneshi or Nurgle melee trooper would have different stats to a Khornate one(in theory).
Im not sure id say berzerkers or any cult troop is specialized enough to get its own class, id like to see them just be tac marines who chose a god and got some buffs, but primarily differ from other tacticals in what weapons they grinded for better ability's with those weapons. I just think as a separate class, we could start cluttering up the class list with choices that should just be specialized skill tree versions of basic ones.
I hope the chaos specific classes will in it really hoping for Berzerkers. Plague marines not so much unless the explode when they die I do wanna see rubric marines and Noise marines they can do some pretty awesome in game effects like their sonic weapons could stun you or send your flying or something
Really, I wouldn't like Titans in the game. They're just to OP. Titans could take out hundreds of enemies, the person wielding the titan could possibly gain far more exp and kills then anyone else. Furthermore, I would prefer large melee charges rather then ranged fights, if the devs were to simply plop in a titan in this game, most people would be more likely to take cover. Which could decrease the chances of getting kills for other players, which would make the game less fun...
This. The way you talk about Titans reminds me of how Jedi could get in Battlefront II. One person who knows what they are doing and everyone is boned. When you are playing as models, huge blasts are okay. But one person shouldnt be given that power in Planetside 2 esque setting.
I too, hope it is like this, would be an excellent decision in my opinion, so for example you could start as a tactical marine and then progress into a plague marine and make your choices from there as to what you want to lug about, whether it be autocannon or bolter, etc.
