Well theres the problem right there, not that it was unexpected. GW (yet again) is showing favoritism to a certain part of a faction while putting a minimum glance on the others. This needs to stop.
Eh was never really a fan of the Phoenix Lords, was always kinda like oh they are Eldar primarchs...oh and eternal evidently consuming other Eldar to continue when killed.. hmmmm Like redhatter said though least Jan is the most different looking one
They might just be jacked up Aspect warriors but that's the point, plus they can look rather cool for Aspect Warriors on steroids Jain Zar is just a Banshee without the beauty of her aspect
Eeeh I don't think it's favoritism to Jan vs how little they go into non space Marine stuff. I mean just in novels alone there's like... 5 or 6 dealing with eldar? How many about Marines? Its over a hundred at least..
They ALL are beasts in combat. The fact that you only think ONE of them are is an issue. She's not even the best of the PL's I can think of two that could easily beat her (TT is ignored here). Asurmen and Baharroth. Asurmen is the MASTER of everything that is war. He TAUGHT Jain Zar to be the badass she is today. (Asurmen could probably beat any PL BTW) and Baharroth is (even Asurmen said this) Asurmen's best student in a classroom full of people that can drag craftworlds out of warp rifts like it's nothing. Another thing to to get is that Jain Zar is the master of MELEE combat. Get some good distance from her and she begins to falter and since Baharroth is easily one of the most fastest things in the universe that's not very hard. I strongly encourage to look a bit deeper into the lore of the other PL's as some are quite interesting true true we get little attention as it is, but all the more reason to not keep it centered on one spot.
Mostly because Craftworld Eldar have a Chinese aesthetic to their army, but from a lore perspective... Dire Avengers represent balanced warfare, of being tactically flexible. The contrasting duality of their abilities, and the image of the noble warrior who is both offensive and defensive, is integral to their shrine. Some examples: -The ASC can handle both large hordes of weak enemies and small groups of tough enemies (thanks to bladestorm). Also with enough range to effectively entrench themselves or kite. 18" isn't a lot, but fleet and battle focus make the most of it. -In some way or another, they've had a defensive measure against assaults. As of 7e they can choose an improved overwatch, or dig in for melee (counter-attack and stubborn). This is despite being a ranged unit. -The DA exarch has two big choices. Either the Diresword, which turns him into a melee threat for challenges, or the Shimmershield, which defensively buffs his squad. And of course the actual text that goes with the Asurmen picture: The rune worn by the Phoenix Lord Asurmen is an ancient symbol of the Eldar warrior spirit. Representing the balance between the fury of emotion and the cold surety of skill, it is synonymous with the Path of the Warrior. Which goes to the root of Asurmen- that he is the origin of the aspect shrines, and represents the balanced way of warfare that the other shrines then take to extremes.
PL's (With the exception of Baharroth and Maugan-Ra) technically have no butts. They are simply souls trapped inside their armor. Sound familiar thousand son?
I'd prefer some commorrite Succubus leading our warhost, really, and what a delicious, pleasent reward we would get once the campaign was won...hmmm.....I dont want some RTC, I want sex and drugs!
