As said.... as long as there are no micro transactions for weapons and equipment (EXCEPT cosmetics) it will be awesome bla bla bla.... So in other words: If you can buy cosmetics it's alright! But the moment you can pay for equipment that actually has value with real money.... That is the moment it starts to fail and be pay 2 win you should NOT EVER be able to buy ANYTHING that has an effect on your character attributes / skills / whatever. Except it really would be like in DUST 514 where you can buy stuff with real money only to get it EARLIER. I.E. you need skill level 5 for that armor, but there is a real-life currency armor which is the EXACT SAME but there you only need skill level 4. So in the end effect it does not make you stronger, you just can wear it quicker. *Please keep in mind that you do not have a level System in DUST 514 you only have Skillpoints, so if Wh40k EC would have a similar system where you do not level up but get skill points to distribute instead it would be same fairness*
I hadn't played that but that does sound perfect! 'You developed X content, I gave you X money. You developed more content, I can give you more money' Or maybe even pay to just be first through the gates - like only those who pay to unlock can play in the new area / vehicle for the first month or so, then it is open to everyone (so eventually you can play with everyone, after you've gotten the gist of the new content) Is that kind of how it works?
you should make anything you can buy something you can earn without paying but it makes it easier to get if you buy it. i would love to pay for awsome skins and executions. But as an ork looking different really makes an ork feel good so this might not be good for the other races. i just really want to stand out from the crowd or should i say green tide?
It's actually entirely free. You get ALL the content and only paid once for the initial game. We're severely underestimating the in game shops, for Guild wars makes huge amounts off of pure cosmetics.
Can the game sustain itself with a buy to play + visual cosmetics + free to play orks model. Most would want that model since it hurts the gameplay the least but can it keep the game alive financially ?
