I just don't want instagibbing. I don't want instances where there are Space Marines huddled in a corner of a room with a melta gun waiting to 1 shot the next guy that comes in.

I say make the ttk a little longer then Space Marine and it'll be fine.
  3. Well, by the book it should be possible... I just want the option to blow up the whole house when it does happen...
  4. Oh lord yes. Some infantry weapons should be one shot kills. Like a sniper rifle headshot. But please no instagibbing CQC weapons. I've had my fill of that from Planetside 2.

That sounds Marine-centric though, since the consensus in this thread seems to be so far that everything should revolve around them and their survivability, but about what the other two races? It would make the most meaningful sense if all factions starting attributes were the same, across the board, with unique exceptions. The fact that the Orks are the most quantitative force in the four-way is hard to transition into multiplayer, but it would be extremely unfair to have them squander their survivability of the Marine's favoritism.

Besides having most players setups from all four races be on the same health levels regardless of their creed, I would like if they did add in some form of NPC-controlling, like pets, for one class that can control 3-5 Imperial soldiers for Astartes, 3-5 Goblins/Orks for Orks faction, young Eldar, and Daemon spawns for the Chaos. Be interesting. But I'm straying to much into this lore-dom.

If there happens to be any infantry weapon available that is one-shot, I'll be abused senselessly, if anything, EC will benefit the most from Planetside-1's formula, and the BFR's, if they plan on adding Titan's *shivers*. Mechophiles would enjoy that, and me being one, would not lol.

Woah, slow down. Of course my comment was Space Marine-centric, it's the yard-stick the developers are using to guide Eternal Crusades' combat. I think the time to kill another person in Space Marine multi-player was right on the money; if you weren't paying attention you were going to have your ass handed to you, but there was still enough time to react to any situation.

Should be the same across the board. I wasn't being faction-ist.
  8. CQC weapons would usually tear apart an Eldar Guardian or any Tyranid meatshield, but I agree with you.

Ouch I came off aggressive again, I didn't know they were using that as such, but from the tabletop references and the Marine mentioning, I took that as such not just from you but from others. I'm not versed with all the developer revealings, but I did play that Space Marine game and thought it was phenomenal. Not multiplayer, but I should of, is it still played online?

Like I don't understand what CQC means, but I'm assuming its not related to the MMO and scares me as some sort of nuclear option. It would be an error though to make the Space Marines as tankers due to the lore, transcending to this game here.

I haven't played online myself for over a year. I'm going to go out on a limb and say probably not. It was amazing at launch because of how many people were playing - the peer-to-peer match making worked reasonably well, and finding a decent host wasn't too hard. As the player base dwindled the peer-to-peer got worse and so did the lag, eventually making it unplayable for me. A real shame. I absolutely adored the multiplayer.

Close Quarter Combat. Melee! Up close and personal.
