I heard of this uncommon game term most related to Call of Duty's Modern Warfare, and also in comparison between both Planetside's. So as an avid fan of this universe, I'm curious is there any knowledge upon the TTK rate in this MMO? If I'm still not understood, than I mean for example in that, in CoD you'll easily shatter to the spectacle of multiple gun rounds from almost any weapon in the game, including melee attacks. Whereas in Planetside-1, you can survive numerous wounds and there is no instant-kill infantry weapon, though perhaps Halo's Master Chief would've a better example I think. Personally, I would prefer a good medium between the two because I imagine in this universe, A Chaos Legionnaire, Astartes Marine, An Eldar... Eldar warrior, and player-Ork adjusted for sensible gameplay purposes, running around amok enough in an obstacle-rich environment like the COG in Gears of War, and sniper-oriented weapons rarely one-shoting players. Not due to my tastes, but as much as I hated having to two-shot most of my combatants in PS-1, I relished the lifespans present because they were endurable enough in promoting an environment of tactics and positioning in my opinion. Not that CoD doesn't, but a well-placed pike formation of Vanu Lashers (AoF Empire-specific weapon) down a hallway or staircase would shear any assaulting force severely enough to fall back. And in that example, I actually feel and hope EC has this TTK around PS-1 so that if one or multiple players are in the hail of an opposing infantries gunfire, from any of the four factions, they can pull back a bit with little or no causalities except health bars near zero, to come back around with a muscled retaliatory stroke Bolter in tow. Vehicular weaponry won't obliterate players with one shell, snipers won't one-shot players and this something that pissed me off in PS-1, because nothing blew more than "headshoting" an enemy in the games heavy armor equivalent, to require another chrome cylinder to dead them after they found out they're in the midst of homicide, to crouch crawl away behind protective barriers. I hope I'm not writing all this and this has already been confirmed lol, but I can't imagine any form of TTK touching CoD's with a telephone pole when melee is obviously going to become a significant aspect of this title from what I've read. And when I mentioned, sensible gameplay earlier I meant, regardless of powered armor present lore-wise, Space Marines and Eldar will possess the same starting attributes as an Ork would. If I am wrong, I hope so in the mis-perceived sense that higher-tier players will be able to gain energy shields, bigger Ork-stompin' bodies, inches of armor, etc.
I was about to edit my earlier post so I'll just reply to ye too. PS2 I played only during beta but from my memory it did, you could still get slaughtered in mere seconds, but still reputable, although in my mind it appealed to the "CoD Crowd", comparing from my nostalgic PS-1 preferences. When I think about it, how can you possibly measure TTK between Call of Duty, to Borderlands? Which BL, one or two? What class, at level one, are we suggesting future health increases per level in EC? You can't compare the TTK in BL to CoD because one is purely FPS, and another a mixture of both that and RPG. That's actually much more confusing-inducing than not stating it.
hehe don't shoot the messenger, from what I've gathered i dont think there is health increases due to rank / level. I haven't played CoD or Boarderlands so cant help you there
Space Marine TTK would be nice, with gear that could help you increase survivability. For those who have played Space Marine there were several items that helped, and out of combat you regenerated health. The question is how will they adapt TTK, will it be a numbers game or will it be something akin to gears of war styled.
Lol sorry, I didn't mean to come off like I was attacking you lol just stating my opinion upon that my bad. I'm just really curious about this aspect.
Agreed, Space Marines took into account what a space marine actually was. Hopefully they take that into account and beef up the other races accordingly or give them weapons that can cut through Space marine armor as most races have in the lore or TT.
