I never stated I wanted it to be a Table top game, I said I want it based off of the lore, and the mechanics of said lore. Much like Stahl said
well i guess since i thought about it I THOUGHT that it would be like WoW or DDO where you pick your race and its class and go from there that's what got me super psyched..... But now what it sounds like it gonna be like battlefront except with Larger clones and different races which is disappointing but i am not saying battlefront was a bad game because it was one of my favorites!
so like you log out back to menu and pick a different character that you created .... is that what your getting at?
Just a little peek behind the curtain, but one of the first things any new team members are supposed to read is the Game Direction page on our wiki, which includes a Target Audience list in priority order. And #1 on that list is 40k universe fans. That doesn't mean of course that we're sticking slavishly to the rules of tabletop when it gets in the way of fun, but our first priority is to make sure the game delivers an authentic feeling 40k experience. And if you guys don't think we've delivered that in the final product, this game isn't going to work no matter how great the shooter or action mechanics are. An MMO is a long-term investment that needs a great community to be successful, and one of the most important pieces to growing that community is evangelists!
RE: Spawning, we are using a system where you can change your class/loadout at certain locations (such as spawn points), but we're working on making it feel more like you're playing a single character who can take on a number of roles. The progression system should also give you plenty to do if you want to specialize down a certain path. I'll make a note to add more about this to the upcoming 2.0 FAQ.
