Ofc, I know that the fight on EC will be like Space Marine and GoW, not like WoW or War, It's only to illustrate my think/hope for EC about small group can beat large band. :)
Ragansi, Masamune and Demetri Dominov like this.

Then you and I are thinking alike.

I think GW2 has done the best job of distinguishing itself from WoW to be perfectly honest. I just wasn't happy with how the game played out. It had some very interesting concepts but not enough for me to keep playing. As for WoW, I don't even bother hating on it because I know I'm going to resub again at some point, then drop, resub, drop, resub...you get the idea

    Double post but I don't care :p

This has me so pumped because of how Space Marine turned out.

I can't say anything about God of War because I didn't like playing the first one and just gave up after that. I think it was because I didn't like Kratos' character. I'm sure someone here is going to tell me it's quite different now :)

Hum... when I said "Gow" it's was for Gears of War not for God of War :D

Oh thank God. I haven't played Gears of War yet...please don't hurt me.

Executions is a horrible idea for the 40k universe
i implore you to not take this path

play a few rounds of space marine, the combat is thrilling and exciting, death is final
play some battlefield4, intense combat makes sure life is short, revival is rare but cool when it happens
play bioshock infinite combat is average but a themed respawn system makes it a much more powerful experience

after playing those games then play guildwars 2
GW2 has the exact downing mechanic you have described
its slow and its boring and all it creates is static gameplay and imbalance

guildwars2 has this system if place because players gain power via levels and time spent on the game
when fighting against a new/less time/geared player you can easily take them out in 1 or 2 hits
many people get upset by getting one shot and this system caters to them allowing an escape move or the like after death
this in turn allows some grossly overpowered nonsense from certain classes using builds that in any other game simply would not be viable

    Executions 40k syle
i propose that the idea of an execution system be kept however flip it on its head
do not wait for a player to get to zero hp and then be downed
instead let them get to a set value range like 1-25 HP (or a % based system ie 5%-10% hp)
when a players hp is within this range they enter an executable state
(by ONLY players who have previously dealt the target damage)
one or more players can attempt to execute
executions can be interrupted buy the usual suspects (stuns, knockback, knockdown, ect)
you could even allow players to body block an execution
(ie: a player is using his sniper execute on his victim who cannot escape it at this time, but his ally jumps in the line of fire at the last second blocking the execute and earning a "look out sir" xp bonus)

as the enemy player is still alive and fighting this would make executions very very risky
they could just cut you down or fill you with bolter rounds while your there trying to be tricky or an ally might save them
however to make this worth it you can provide a few things
the XP inject that you already had planned AND fill the HP of the attacker
this will create a very fluid combat system
players who pick their timing very well will be able to use executes like a health pack and keep pushing into the enemy but always at the risk of an equally skillful or cleaver enemy stopping or killing them at the crucial second

Or the sniper get "1 shot, 2 kills" xp bonus.... ;)
