I hate fuckin G.W. and those who bitching about ' oh no don't you dare think about advancing the story forward, how dare you, we won't be able to play our 'glorius' board game' fuckin hell... FOR LORGAR!
As it stands the current year in the 40k timeline is 41st millennium, 999th year. So we are stuck in a fucking time period because G.W doesnt want to advance the story so they can glorify their Ultrasmurfs, and so they can make a shitload of money off loyalist marine models.
So you would prefer them to advance the storyline so they can make a shitload off the chaos marine models instead? How does this fix things?
Do you think that this progress rate is normal? Somehow the story must go on, the golden throne won't last forever, and that is just one thing.
How about they just write some books on the Abyssal Crusade. That campaign has got a shitton of potential for Chaos storytelling.

Issue is, nobody is able to beat the Tyranids. The shadow in the warp is just too strong. It prevents the Chaos gods from having ANY influence, it prevents warp travel for any warp-capable crafts, it prevents the eldar webway from working, prevents long range communication, it prevents psychic powers from working. Oh yeah, and it can stop the God Emperor himself. Literally the only races that can fight the Tyranids are the Necrons and the Tau because they don't have a warp presence (necrons are mindless robots, Tau are all blanks). And the Tau are right in between the Tyranids and the thing they're after: The Golden Throne. So the Tau won't last much longer, the imperium will collapse, Emperor will be devoured, Chaos gods will be devoured (and by extension, the forces of chaos in the materium will collapse), Orks will be devoured as they can't organize to fight the Tyranids effectively, Eldar don't have the numbers to fight the Nids once their webway collapses. Basically, the galaxies only hope of not being totally destroyed by the Tyranids is the Necrons, who are capable of defeating the Tyranids but would then proceed to destroy all life anyway. TL;DR - Only race that can survive the nids is the Necrons, and if either Nids or Necrons win all life is gone so it doesn't matter what Failbaddon the armless does or doesn't do as everything is dead anyway EDIT: In hindsight, Creed can probably beat the Tyranids. And the Necrons. And the rest of 40k. And the stuff that isn't 40k.
Fantastic, right up until the point when the shadow in the warp consumes the entire galaxy, then Nurgle (and all other warp entities) are gone.
