Probably not possible from a technical point but Orks throwing up dirt and smog to give cover to the trailing units would be a nice touch. Not actual cover values, just some obscuring "smoke".
I hope the viper will be fast...and have decent altitude. I expect it will be similar to other bikes and have little altitude
Bikes should enable player to both shoot the bike weapons and swing a melee weapon if equipped. Gameplay-wise I'd not make it possible to turn 180 quickly, and as for the jumping speed, adding a special jump-boost would probably be strange, but the bike itself is much faster than a pedestrian, so it probably can get you farther when jumped off the cliff or bridge or something..)) By the way, I think there should be a limit to the fall height on a bike (maybe not a jetbike, though)))
Most bike units on the TT do have a boost ability. I don't think they can fire whilst doing it though. I also think that using a hand weapon whilst riding a bike should compromise part of your control, like how many weapons you can fire or your manoeuvrability. Or maybe both. So if you use a melee weapon whilst riding your SM/CSM bike, you should only be able to fire one of the bike mounted weapons, not two. On top of that, maybe you shouldn't be able to do extreme manoeuvre's or boost as you'd need both hands for that. Of course you might want to exempt elites and/or heroes from that last impediment.
1. Automatic shifting to Ravenwing and Hounds of Huron (if RC beat out AL) color schemes 2. Hell yeah I want ramming ability for LSM/CSM/Orks, even if it comes with some damage to the rider (especially on hitting other vehicles) 3. Detonation of the bike when it takes enough of a beating/shooting, dealing damage to, and potentially, killing the rider. This is the only way I see of tying together the TT's single model bike rules. 4. The ability for the rider to throw grenades while moving. 5. The ability to fire anything smaller than a Plasma Cannon while stationary on the bike. 6. HUD crosshairs linked to the bike's handlebars and a fixed angle for the twin-linked Bolters/Deffgunz. These things are powerful but don't 'track' freely like tank sponsons. I'd be open to debate whether the rider should be able to track up and down (good for gameplay), but the horizontal axis for the Astartes/Traitor/Ork bikes should be fixed imo. Jetbikes too most likely. 7. Chaos bikes neeeeed spikes and scythes. Maybe as a loadout upgrade but even the basic bikes are said to incorporate them 8. Smoke fa da boyz !! 9. Jetbikes should be able to perform a jump maneuver. I'd say give them full control of yaw, pitch and roll for short bursts but it smacks of 'flight' EC isn't ready to commit to and may be just a touch OP (aka devastatingly OP). 10. Yes to some Heroes/Elites riding bikes !! Okay, not TEQs (Termies, Meganobs, Wraithguard) but basic MEQ/GEQ units sure. Chaplain or a Farseer on a 'bike'. This would need to involve an expanded loadout cost, with the bike tacked on as wargear. 11. Please don't 'despawn' the bikes when someone dismounts. I'm happy if we can 'lock' them so that only the spawner can access them but no MMORPG style mounts plz
The only thing I could ask for with bikes, is that red ones go fasta. Also, only for show, if I put a big spike at the front of my bike I hope that it impales them instead of squishing them. Probably wouldn't be effective in reality, but orks don't care about efficiency when it comes to killing. And that bikes make a lot of noise. Like, ALOT of noise.
