10x this. No careful navigating between mobs to avoid aggro please. No "attack one mob without aggroing others". One mob sees you, whole pack attacks. Smart attack AI, e.g. follow the leader, without possibility to "dilute" aggro between several players. Although I would expect mobs to give up chase after some time, a bit Skyrim style, i.e. when you run away, they return, but retain heightened level of alertness.
The Casual playerbase is something that could easily be fixed by a lot of methods actually. Its just unfortunate that it has not been explored deeply enough. For example, playing Dawn of War Soulstorm I did not get into multiplayer until recently because I never actually had a game account. When I got on I got remarks like "Who is this omg his record, no game, kick!!!" its this kind of attitude by hardcore players that turns away newer players. The Veteran community should know better and welcome the casual to help them learn. And if they do not want to help then they have no right to complain. The Devs could do much to help decazualize the playerbase as well by using proper training missions that ACTUALLY teaches players how to play the game. Something I never understood in games like starcraft is why they have no missions that actually teaches new players how to use hotkeys. Well when starcraft 2 came out they came out with challanges which helped raise the skillcap of the lowbies. Something like this is in order.
No mixed race safe areas! If I see an Orc, Eldar or CSM and the game arbitrarily prevents me from killing them on sight I'll be really sad
That was a bad attitude, that should not be welcome. But as you say it, it is not only up to players, it should be a game design question to get new players acquainted with the game and possibly give them some training first, maybe with the players of their league. The game should reward learning and not let newbies to get stomped hard right from the start, as some games do. Still, care too much for a noob and he will not understand why the game is getting harder if it was so easy from the start. How to achieve this balance, especially in an open-world game like EC - honestly I have no idea)
Some of the best/most intense PvP'ers I know are Rp'ers. I don't do it myself, beyond what is required to play a game, but those that do, should be afforded the ability to do so. No safe zones makes perfect sense for this IP and I believe everyone can agree to that. I played PS1 quite a bit, I don't remember ever seeing RP. I am sure it was there, but I didn't spend a lot of time in safe zones either...
hoping that events like this dont make it. you could have these events but match them to each faction so its changes the gameplay for them But if it did.... it would have to be renamed to something slaneeshi.... instead about valentine it could be that week is a slaneesh event and something bigs going on like his followers/cultists will perform a ritual that will effect a zone or two? Chaos could get some sort of non game breaking buff while the event is on and it could make them praise slaneesh in chat every 5mins with various quotes ( i reallly want a Khorne week now..) . No one cares about lovey dovey crap in warhammer we just want to smash some skulls. i would have no issue with events like this if they are balanced to work in the 40k universe and the factions. Week of the Emperor or something that sounds cooler all SM get a buff or something and they would randomly shout praise for the Emp in chat
Yes, They have to balance the content around people who don't have the time to dedicate to reaching that kind of progression. Remember the current state of the industry is instant gratification, If I can't do it quickly then I won't bother. Look at WoW it's entirely possible for casual players to raid and progress they just didn't want to wait a few months doing it compared to a month it would take for a hardcore guild to clear new content.
Some people have mentioned the custodes I other threads. This is a no no for me. It all depends on the plot though. I mean a demon prince for example might be a bit much but if there were a special seasona events on then sure. I hope we don't see a return of made up weapons Ie the vengeance launcher. I'd like to see th armoury stay imperium approved.
