Ok so first we got the sprint animation with the sword that hits you in the face. Now we have a new run animation, and its even worse now. For ranged, its fine, actually better. But melee is so bad, the sword doesn't look like it was even considered for this animation, it looks like I'm constantly smacking my own face. If you need some inspiration, look to DoW2 Banshee run, (sword out behind, with gun hand in front).
I want to know exactly what they have done to eldar melee full stop, where I can run a scorpion put 3 heavy attacks, first one from stealth directly into the back of an assault marine and not kill him. This being with the damage mod on my chainsword.
Completely agree, very nice sprinting animation, looks both graceful, menacingly and impressive at the same time, you really feel like an alien running with its inhuman grace and still battle-wise pose, not some slender plastic clumsy soldier with blade and pistol held and swung right in front of your face
If its any consolation. You guys move around so much and maps are so dark that your enemies can't even see half you stuff any way. I just shoot at collors now. If I see bright garish colors I unload...which has led to a few FF incidents with my fellow evil suns and blood axes.
This is pre retribution picture, but you see how "Eldar with swords" are mostly running with the sword behind and with one hand in front. Most of the ranged units are slightly leaning in front of them, and I believe Eldar were never running like titans, I think, that animation polishing needs to give us much more gracefulnes. And some idle animations as well, maybe, cause Eldar are always ready.
I definitely second that running animation with the sword held behind the back. It looks just SO much better than the current one
And that's why I can only play scorpion. half of the time I am crawling or in stealth and I can't see this mess. But when I see a warlock or a banshee running around I want to shoot it to end their sufferings.
