I think most people who understand how game engines work understood that an MMO based on 40k using the Unreal engine was never a possibility.
it was a terrible project born and builded (builded multiple times with differents prototipes actually) only for follow the success of wow and attracts wow players so a game born to fail like all the others mmo created during that years for the same reasons.
Admit it: You would have grinded hours for a +5 Bolter of Boltering with stamina-enchantment that would boost your DPS by 2.75!
NO beucase I wouldn't play a poor atempt at 40k like Dow 3 for example, same goes with this When it becomes a game where pretty much all sensical lore is sacrificed it doesn't become anything but a bad ripoff. Good thing we have EC instead of DMO. Also I hate WoW and I hate all those open world MMORPGs like such.
So true, too bad that the Pikko-Server didn't worked out. On the other hand, if you (developer) want to make a WH40k game with mass combat you should have build your own engine. Edit: IMO the WoW-themepark-way won't work out for 40k. It should be more like Planetside 2 (MMO) meets Mass Effect (RPG) with a good dose of Star Wars Galaxies (Sandbox)
Tbh, if we had got dark millenium or da miguel EC, they would be worser den dis game roight now. Hell, Dark millenium would 'ave been in da same boat as dat warhammer online
I still dream of huge maps where hundreds of players need vehicles to move around and engage amazing battles. Then I think of Agnathio and Harkus and I smash my face against the brutal reality.
