Nothing the player base does will increase player size, game already has the stigma of being bad, badly designed and managed. The devs are radio silent and I already called this game going f2p soon. Nathan is working for bE, his job is to milk every last drop out of this game. They will ride this out until steams holiday sale and thats when most likely the first expansion will come out. "it will be OMG 30% off with our first FREE EXPASION!". They will ride that wave until free 2 wagh or full f2p, as you can tell from more emphasis for fixing and upgrading the store with the post launch patches.
BHVR said they would self publish if they got enough funding. They did. Both Miguel and Nathan said they did. They signed on with a publisher anyway. They were under no obligation to us, the people who paid for this game but when they made contractual promises to a publisher in exchange for support and money they made themselves contractually obligated to those promises. Before they even had a publisher they claimed they were going to release the game in 2015 on pc/xb1/ps4. They couldn't keep their own dates. The publisher has already moved up launch dates as well. They also mysteriously stopped selling xb1 preorders so who even knows what's going on there. So don't say BN "forced" this on them. BHVR forced this on themselves.
Fix the game. Balance melee with ranged, polish it. Optimise it and work on increasing players numbers in match. Release campaigns as soon as possible, give garrison and pve some part in it. Give missions some objectives... not just stupid globe objective points. Give players some reason to fight, fun from killing others is not enough to keep them for long. Get more customisations, fix lootbox system. Lower customisation prices. Those are things that EC was missing at release. Things like terminators, battlewagons and dreadnoughts and warlords can come later. The list is huge... To be honest... I think it is beyond abilities of BHVR. Perhaps if they could have cash for 2 more years. Well, they don`t. I suppose they will hold for a year or so and we will have a dead game.
This my men, we actually dont have nothing to do, i mean ok for the Space Marines we are call upon this planet because there is an infestation of Tyranids that wipe out every Imperial settlement. Ok. And what the others? The last thing i fght is a tyranid wot?
In the short term they need to balance the factions (potentially easy), optimise the performance for larger battles such as 60 player fortress maps. And in the long term, add extra content, 1) More unit types, weapons and vehicles, more maps 2) Persistant world conquest map (not to be confused with mmo open world) 3) Add a social home base area where the whole faction can chat, but only 60 avatars are visible, in different instances that share the same chat channels throughout the faction. Similar to the global agenda home base. And players can join missions from this home base. 4) More game modes, expanding on guild gameplay. And expanding the PVE modes Then they need to make a relaunch, Eternal Crusade Redux, or enhanced edition. Something along those lines. With a slightly lower base price than what we have now. More for less. Then we will see numbers swell, and all the 40k fans who have opted not to buy it before will reconsider. And it will appeal more to the non 40k crowd.
I still be in favor o' it. Ye can 'ave hordes o' orks dat don't know anyfin'. It aids in me dream o' orks havin' more numba's on their side
