What can be done to increase the playerbase?

  1. When all is said and done the bottom line from my experience trying to show friends the game and convince them to buy it. They say the melee looks too OP and the pricetag is too high. Everything else is mutable compared to those 2 from my firsthand experience trying to sell the game to others.

They found a way to make Orks go 1v1 with Astartes, let's not pretend IG going 1v1 with Astartes is any less ludicrous.

No, I don't care whatsoever that Orks are physically tougher than humans. No, I do not care, whatsoever, that there was one instance in one book of Orks who were capable of going 1v1 with Astartes and winning. Orks as a playable race have never been a faction that turns up to a fight with equal numbers, they always, ALWAYS bring huge numbers to the point Green Tide is a literal term. 30 Orks assaulting a fortress on their own against 30 Astartes defending it is a situation that goes against the Ork theme. They are a horde army by nature. Bringing small amounts of elite troops has never been what they're good at, ever. If you can manage to reconcile a WH40k game that treats an Ork Boy as the equal of an Astartes Tactical, you do have the power within you to reconcile a member of the Imperial Guard being able to do so as well. You simply choose not to.

  3. Yeah but it would be difficult to not put catachan in for how iconic they are I suspect and then the dev's shotgun allergies kick in...
  4. I think orks should be ova'all weaka', but get more playa's on their team. Half again as many on their side. 20v20 becomes 30v20 and 30v30 becomes 45v30 as a start. That'll neva' happen, but I can dream

  5. The problem in respect to the lore, is if you make Orks that weak, you're not going to have Orks winning a 30v1. You're going to have everyone else winning 30 1v1's.

well thats why Imperial could work plus for the classes they could add not only comissar (that heals when he screams at the soldiers) but also have inquisitors, all the adeptus, the assassins, the sister of battle, idk things like that, well more than Imperial Guard, an IMPERIUM OF MAN, of course without the Space Marines.
  7. Owners: 81,514 ± 7,339
    Players in the last 2 weeks: 23,883 ± 3,973 (29.3%)
    Players total: 79,091 ± 7,229 (97.03%)
    Peak concurrent players yesterday: 1,095
Players will come back when big patches happen the game is fine specially based on the real numbers. Steam chart is a shitty metric that only tells half the story.

    This a trick question?
The answer is pretty simple if its not

    FIX
    THE
    GAME

Hire someone who has some understanding of balance and a great knowledge of the 40k rules and universe, because its clear that if there is someone like that on the team right now, they have no actual influence on game balance. Axes that do 10x the damage of a Bolter for example, or how your entire team can be made up of heavy weapon players (plasma, heavy bolters, etc). This is just all around broken

Hire someone who knows how to freaking program using the unreal 4 engine. Ive never seen a more poor implimentation of the U4 engine (ark comes close, but still isnt as bad as this). The U4 engine is amazing, both in visual looks and in its ability to perform well. Gears of War 4 is a shining example. Even if you dont like that game, its hard to deny how well the game runs and how visually stunning it is to look at.

Start being up front and honest as well as informative with your players about the important (broken) things in the game. Going on and on about hyped unreleased things coming in a few months isnt going to save this game when things people care about NOW arent working making people not want to play. Terminators arent going to fix the balance or performance issues.

And finally, polish. The game lacks ANY polish. Controls are clumsy, camera is awful and VERY limiting, vehicle physics are a freaking joke, the cover system only works about half the time, mounting your weapon on a wall often breaks your ability to aim down, the UI for your loadout is a complete pain to navigate and manage, the advancement trees are a complete mess... the list goes on and on. These arent game breaking, but when added to all the other things, its typically adds up to just enough to make people leave the game.
  9. Shut the game down, spend some 2-3 more years finishing it, relaunch with a new name, change bE's name too so fewer people realize the move.

  10. Nothing. It's too late. Everything that should have been done to create a large, stable player base at launch, should have been done before launch.

The only hope they have now is to get campaigns, terminators, a bunch of new maps, expanded PVE, and vehicle customisation, into the game in time for the console launch (which needs to be priced lower, $40 maximum). News sites do sometimes do console release reviews, and if EC had this much more content it will 100% get a better review score. This will hopefully create a better console player base, but does not gaurantee PC player numbers will grow significantly. For that, we would need open-world-esque territories to create a small-scale Planetside experience. Then the game actually will develop some interesting game play beyond the mindless slog of PVP arena combat that serves no purpose but to power the item grind.
