Me personally I just love the Imperial Fists. I played A LOT of RTS in my day, and I always play defensively. Just my style, so when I read about the IFs, and about Rogal Dorn, I just can't help but think that this is definitely the chapter for me.
Salamanders because they have the best made weapons, and they actually BOTHER saving civvies. Plus giant flamethrowers are just plain cool
Ah hell galen I laughed a lot with that. Well I like BT because they dont have psykers! I hate librarians and i never field them. Not even in DoW i used them. I simply despise them. So i go along well with BT on that. Also love the Emperor Champion lore and Sigismund! They are a close combat chapter thats nice aswell! They use the Templar name, and my country has strong ties with the templars, it was there in Portugal that they took refuge when they were hunted across Europe, changed their name to knights of Christ and their fortune served to finance the discovery expeditions! Thats why the Portuguese ships sported the Templar Cross. Also the flag of my island the first place to be discovered by the Portuguese:
i like dorns men but i like the uses of librains and whould field them in any deathwatch rp if i played it . so i like any chapter that makes uses of librains and not abolishes it fully. though i do like the iron hands with there bionics and abolishing of the flesh
Dark Angels for me, they (in my opinion) are the coolest looking folks, with those epic capes and robes and wing helmet and their Dark green armor of darkness. They are a very mysterious chapters full of secrets and secrets and secrets etc. and their secretive makes them cool, different from other chapters. Also their hunt for the fallen is fun and interesting to know about. They look a lot like the medieval knights of old, especially during the HH. Personally I've always liked darkness and angels, and the fact that this chapter is the Angels of Darkness, it suits my style.
Well i came to the loyalists becuse space marines were my 1st "race" in the games since my 1st game was the chaos gate one with the ultrasmurfs i kept playing games with space marines but then when i was on games workshop to start playing the Tabletop i found the Blood angels and got Interested and started Reading books and etc... i realy liked the story with the blood angels Primarch it does not make alot of sence but i choosed the space marines becuse they are the defenders of mankind and if there were no space marines Humanity would be dead completely, And for that with the chapters and stuff you are right man you start reading the story of chapter for example the blood ravens they are not an official chapter but they have a nice story and all in the dawn of war franchise for example there are alot of ultramarines fans and alot of ultramarines haters and i dont realy understand it everyone has a choice, and what i find kinda poor on dawn of war i found alot of clans that were for the exorcists and stuff like that i usualy see more fans of space wolves and ultramarines when they are loyalists and most of the time people just like the chapter becuse they look good on the armor and not becuse of the story or what they have done for the Imperium If there were no space marines in the warhammer40k universe i would have been an Eldar for sure, they have awesome story as well as for example Eldrad wanted to warn the Emperor from his children betrayal and so, so what i want to say everyone has his own opinion and likes ^^
The Blood Ravens ARE official they just weren't created by GW. Totally canon though. For the most part people hate on the smurfs because of what people like Matt Ward did to them. Originally they were average marines who, like all marines, thought they were the best, most loyal, etc. But they took it to a higher level with being pompous about it because of their geneseed and massive amounts of successors, and of course, Ultramar. That was fine though, that gave them character. Some ppl didn't like it for a obvious reasons, but others did because it was their defining flaw that they had to combat with badasses like Uriel Ventris and (if canon) Titus at the forefront. NOW though, ppl like Matt Ward turn them into Mary Sues. Because of him, it's now (shitty) canon, that I refuse to accept, that they are the best at everything ever and they can do any job better than any other chapter even though the other chapter might specialize in that field and be totally awesome at it. Stuff like that.
I'm all about the Imperium because it's Mankind. I love my race. We have lots of derp, but we have lots of awesome too. Along the same lines is why I hate Chaos. Not only does it represent everything wrong with humanity, but it embraces that shit as if it were a virtue. I love the Emperor because he loves Mankind and he has the insane levels of awesome to get them to the top and was willing to die for them. My favorite chapter is the BT because I like black and white, knights, close combat (especially swords), and they're insanely, batshit crazy loyal to the Emperor. Up there alongside the other big names in Emperor loyalty which I'm all about.
