  1. Restarting this thread since it was wrongfully closed out based on the false assumption that there was already another thread discussing why CHAOS and Eldar are currently dominating since Patch 23 went live.

Everyone feel free to get caught up on the discussion here:

The below statement is untrue considering the link is associated with a discussion that's only discussing Eldar.

There are already posts about this so please do not start new posts about the same topic over and over.

I invite @BrentEllison , @Oveur to please browse the feedback in this thread and the former thread that was mysteriously closed out at their leisure.

To sum it up: They have better healers than LSM and Orkz, Chaos have Heavy Bolters, Eldar have Swooping Hawks and have the option for decent HB equivalent.

Everything else is just icing on the cake. Eldar can cheese their tanks into places they're not supposed to go and can exploit that way. Also their troop transports have insane guns. Swooping Hawks can get across the map EXTREMELY fast and save cap points (this kinda needs to change). Eldar have smaller hit boxes and move faster. That coupled with server delay and bad netcode = unhittable targets. Warlocks can just drop Embloden and run around like crazy.

Chaos have good options with strong melee from Khorne mark and tanky squads with Mark of Nurgle. Also their Sorc has a guided plasma bomb later and his poison hurts.

But mostly its that both these factions get healers who can heal from safety right off the bat and keep everyone up. Its the one thing nobody seems to want to talk about but is exactly why they're doing so well right now in the win/loss ratio.

Apothecaries and Painboys just can't keep up and don't have as great a kit as the Warlock and Sorcerer.

Orks have a basket full of problems right now which hopefully will be sorted out before launch. Considering how long eldar were sub par I'm not holding my breath. I already what I feel are the biggest issues with orks in this thread https://forum.eternalcrusade.com/threads/the-state-of-ork-balance-and-salt.56995/

I think specifically with chaos it's the ability to mass sorcerers with the nurgle heal and heavy bolters. That allows them to simply walk forward and destroy everything because heavy bolters and their equivalents are an anti everything weapon right now.

Eldar I think it's a combination of being too hard to hit with ranged, the TTK is so low that it vastly favours the eldar strategy of simply not being hit. Because other factions are meant to be more resilient which quite frankly it doesn't feel like. There's also the fact that their melee is unbelievably fast. With all that speed, the server lag is compounded making it nearly impossible to actually hit the eldar.

why not make the thread just about Chaos then? :S

It does look like spam at this point
  4. Because the ranged healers are a factor of both factions that is largely over looked in the other threads, not to mention the OP raises a valid point that this factor may be a significant buff to the factions

Chaos? My experience is that Eldar are packing too much damage output and should have it slightly reduced. Slightly. Dont rage.

  6. Are we not allowed to make posts concerning the current state of both Eldar AND Chaos in a single thread? Are the thought police telling us which factions we're allowed to offer feedback on?

How does bad netcode equal nerf Eldar?

Why in a billion years would you take mark of kannonfodder for melee or otherwise in a competitive setting? Mark of Khorne makes you completely useless at holding ground because you can't be healed, one of my most hated things in the game as a Sorc right now is MoK because I can't even patch you up expending all of my juice, and life leech is not enough to make up for that disadvantage.

  9. I think the OP, whom I was quoting, was getting at the fact that Chaos has 4 Marks and various play styles to choose from, while Orks and Astartes dont have quite so many options, which might be one of many contributing factors determining why Orks and Astartes aren't fairing quite as well as Chaos and Eldar.

Which is valid to an extent, I certainly feel that MoS has a unique battlefield role. Though MoN and MoT are really just variations on survivability until either more wargear synergies or you're lucky enough to fish a marked item out of an artificer box.
