  1. Image is broken.
  2. I don't mock, but I still say it's a terrible waste to have such great animations and models on a damn chess game.

  3. what else should this game have if not awesome animations ^^ thats the only thing they can really work on

  4. True, but still a waste of potential.
  5. And I guess making BattleChess was their only option since GW wouldn't let anyone making a video game version of their IP to make a video game version of the actual table top game, even turned based. That has nothing to do with them not wanting it to compete with their miniatures games, it doesn't at all. It's because someone else has already secretly got the rights to do that at the moment ... *cough* Sega *cough*.

You think Sega will do something like TT representation in videogame? If yes, I want this. Best strategy is turn based strategy.

Well i mean, Chaos Gate was kinda table-top-ish.

they can make turn based game but they can't clone tabletop. the can make a similar turn game but not identical.

also space hulk teached that the exact copy of the tabletop rules don't work/it's not fun in a videogame because lack many of the interaction of a tabletop ( space hulk was the exact copy of space hulk tabletop).

so a partial adaptation is always needed (like in space hulk ascension).

It was indeed, imo it was the closest TT looking Wh40k game so far apart from the fact that it was an rpg with pretty developed character progression but that's even for better.

I'd love to play a turn based Wh40k computer game that would closely resemble TT (preferably something around the 4th or 5th ed rulebook, the last ones are too...chaotic and free stylish for me).

It would be nice if there was a free camera available to see clearly all the beautiful units apart from those that for some reasons shouldn't be seen (some kind of Fog of War system).

Actually there was\is something like that, it was an amateour program for basically calculating the costs of units and arranging the army list but it was playable if you used a bit of imagination and standard dice, ofc it had some limitations. Unfortunately I don't rememeber how it's called.

Chaos gate was very good game. It's sad you can play only ultramarines.

I played Space Hulk and it's random dice thrower was very bad in video game. This game was very hardcore because of it. And you see no progress, which is also bad in video game. So I agree you can't create exact copy of TT game, it's get boring or frustrating really quick.
