because the tyrand are the "end" of the galaxy, if the tyranids win the galaxy become only a mass of rock.
The Imperium wont even last long enough to see m42. Their countdown started at m31 , they dragged their rotting corpse long enough. The only winner is the Chaos Gods. Orks and nids are also great "players" , they will keep us occupied for a very long time , still , who doesnt enjoy some genuine competition.
You lie. Chaos needed the mortals on its youth. Not anymore. It does not need them as a human needs water to live. It collects the powers , keeps it. All the souls of the perished , all the emotion and bloodshed , it is stored in the warp , one with the Gods. The warp tends to flood into the mataerium and will eventually merge with it. As time passes the Gods become stronger and stronger. Soon they will need nothing anymore. And the Galaxy will be one with the warp. GG.
Except to corrupt and control the Tyranids to then go off to other Galaxies to Corrupt+Nom (although they technically have an influence in every galaxy (I.e. Warhammer 40K AND Warhammer))
