@Dreadspectre The thing with Apoth's from an Ork perspective is that their used in such numbers that on Hold the Lines, the smaller cap rooms become littered with Apoth beacons to the point that you can down them but they stand back up. The Beacon's got a little wider AoE from the visual at least than the Dok Bomb, not to mention it's tiny and takes quite a few shots. The Dok bomb is massive and can be shot from far away. I've been in a- Ah, what was it . . It's the B point on Pegasus on the Lava map. Ran in as my slugga. Killed a tactical. Started killing another as an Apoth appeared. Killed the second tactical and started fighting the Apoth. He threw his beacon and both marines stood up almost as soon as it landed. I didn't have the time or the grenade to down them properly and so, I died. I'm guessing it was the upgraded one, which Doks get no access to. They've got just the one Dok bomb and the two vials. One just heals faster with no other benefits oh, and poison grenades. Apoths have the beacon, the upgraded beacon and the actual healing grenade. And i believe they've got like five variations of the vials? The Knife equivalent weapon, while a downside since we can't upgrade it to a proper melee weapon and we can't take a shoota Isn't half bad if you know how to use a knife, though against certain things like the fist, you will just die. We do also get an amazing selection of pistols, though the Sikky Slugga and by extension the Barfa Slugga arn't anything all that special. the poison it applies is minimal, and there's usually an Apoth that can just heal it off the person too. (Something again, Doks can't do.) I think Apoths being brought down to Painboyz. Especially since bolters are currently ridiculous since a few patches ago. I'm not touching the topic of Wolf Priests, though i am curious how this support class nerf will affect them if their melee is affected because they shouldn't be able to take Force as their not psykers. (Apoth/Chaplain combination)
Sorc needs to have his offensive spells buffed x3. And Apoth needs nerfs, its ridiculous you dont really need to play tactical if you can play apoth with a bolter. the healing grenade is sorta imba too, i cant destroy it with melee (unlike orc's) and its difficult to shoot : its too small
Again with the Apoths are Tacts... They have less offensive gear choices than Tacts, less durability than Tacts, and most of all... THEY CANNOT CAP POINTS! So STOP claiming Apoths are Tacticals that can heal. They aren't.
Giving a large offensive buff to aspiring sorcerers is not a good answer. They are intended to support, not be Doombolt throwers. The offense role would be for elite sorcerers. It would be nice if aspiring offensive powers were actually more powerful in a supportive way, though. It could be worse: If you think sorcerers are weak on offense, try a painboy sometime. But now that bolters have been buffed, the apothecary just carries a lot of good firepower along with it. Some of this comes down to there being no restriction or drawback to fielding many apothecaries, or other non-backbone classes. A flaw in the system. And they are to nerf psysker melee soon, but I wonder what happens to Apothecaries?
Not Chaos biased at all but I just want something between a Pistol and a Bolter. The spells are okay, some are super fluffy, but I'd rather have some debuffs. Blind or something that pauses armour regen delay etc.
Space Marine and Ork healers suck big time. Chaos sorc is the best healer without a doubt. Eldar is right behind it. I just hate any game that forces me to go blank range to heal. Ill take ranged heals any day.
I think offensive skills are okay now though? They do quite a lot of damage if the opponent is not careful, and I sometimes do get nastily surprised by the Warp Grenade/Revolver to the face when trying to charge a sorc. It's the versatility that is great, opposed to apoc's bolter-or-chainsword and painboyz' nonexistent gear choice (though I am not saying apoc/painboy is in any sense UP; just not as flexible).
