Were Sorc/Warlock nerfs on UAT really that surprising?

They went back to basics for bf1 thank god the assault class and medic are unique to each other. That was one gripe I had about the BF series over the years was them cutting out the medic and throwing their items at assault classes.

I think Bad company 2 had the worse.... It would have been like if they threw all the apothicary healing at a dev X-D

    Anti-tank, and Special Forces.
    All classes that got merged.

Went from 7 specific roles to 4 do what you want classes.
It was kind of fitting for bad company what with the smaller game size; it was a real kick in the nuts when only 4 classes returned for BF3..

No class should be so good at another classes job that it makes the other class redundant?

Don't look at the Croneblade, as it got nerfed hard, too. Instead of a nice 50% charge regen buff, it just gives 20 more charge capacity, at the cost of having no mods, less damage, and none of the other benefits of Master Crafted weapons...

    AKA, they made it useless.

    The only scary fact here.

Is that if they nerf supports, into useless classes.

Sure supports shouldn't excel at other classes' job. But if you make a support so weak, that it can't even get a kill on their own in a 1v1....you'll kill the class.

I remember force swords, getting destroyed by chainswords, as if they were inferior...It was nowhere near a fun patch...
Support classes are usually very own classes, that CAN, help the team.
Not a class of a frail little kid, that sweats just from standing on his feet. Careful with this "nerf battering"
  6. That was a bug with the clang settings.

The only thing i'm saying is that in most cases the "support" classes in W40k, are not less than the original class.
An apothecary is indeed a marine, that is also an apothecary.
A wolf priest, is a chaplain ( GA equivelant ), and also an apothecary.
A warlock, is a psyker squad leader, that is far better than a "normal class"
An aspiring sorcerer, is also a psyker squad leader, that is also a GA equivalent.

If you consider a Main class ( A ), and support mechanic ( s ), the support classes that they have picked, are A+s.

They want to make them S classes, but then the S really needs to very, very good, which isn't right now.
    Markosian and Alb like this.

One way they could make the Banshee Scream more useful would be to give it a Hold and Release functionality, with an on-screen visualisation of where the scream's cone will hit. That would give skilled 'Shees the means to pick their moments for the best effect from the scream.

The only pro of this nerf is that we wont see people playingsorc/wolf priest as a dedicated melee class

the con is that they get nerfed on paper armor healbot level, and since all suports get nerfed means the painboy gets nerfed too for no reason since everybody who played as it played to be a support
  10. This is true, the only thing I would say though is that in lore and TT these support classes are also much less numerous than their regular counterparts. This has always been the problem with EC, balancing what should be powerful individual classes when there is no limit on the number of people who can use that class.

You are right, if they're going to make them purely support classes then the support elements need to be better :)
