Were Sorc/Warlock nerfs on UAT really that surprising?

  1. Sounds like banshee needs a buff then, it's not a class I play so I'll defer to the more experienced eldar players as to what that buff should be, certainly they shouldn't be outdone by warlocks in melee :)

well considering our pistols are utter shit compared to the other races' and that we engage in melee like 99% of the time, maybe they should get a survability/speed buff, because they're supposed to be faster than regular eldar and imo it's not really noticeable rn, plus even in the lore they're the first line of attack of the eldar, yet here a scorpion who is a stealth unit for some reason has more armor than them? also more durability in their swords. nearly as much as any regular power weapon, or the same. also the scream should also be modified, currently it's useless in combat unless you want to get fast OHKs which aren't really necessary because if you HA someone in the back and the LA him he's already dead and won't get to react really

  3. I can certainly sympathise on the scream, whenever I play Eldar I seem to get hit with the scream just as much as the enemy but it doesn't really seem to do anything to people you attack. Perhaps they could have like a super sprint button which either uses stamina or is on a cool down so they can sprint a couple of metres more quickly when attacking?

during the pre-alpha development process the devs would talk about how they saw EC 's shape emerging,

IIRC one of the paths they wanted to avoid traveling was the classic MMORPG "holy trinities" approach to class roles

    Yeeeeah...

The thing is, to me, the Banshee right now is a glass canon (EDIT: on UAT). Hence, if she attacks head on in a clear line of sight, she'll get destroyed in less than a second.
I agree on the fact Banshees should surprise their opponents by how fast they can move, and I'd like to see some more animation revamp ESPECIALLY on the banshee. Have her dodges look more like the Peacekeeper's from For Honor would be awesome, dashing under the enemy's blade.... A banshee sprint should also be slightly different, more frightening I think.

I can't really comment on sorcs needing to be nerfed, i play em every now and then, didnt get the impression they were OP.
    But I could be wrong.

I wanted to put something else out there: Whenever you are about to state some faction or class or weapon is OP, check with yourself if the example(s) that stood out to make you believe this werent in fact more a case of pug vs clan.

I've been playing LSM a little bit lately and the biggest problem of that faction isnt that they are supposedly nerfed, its that they have BY FAR most mouthbreathers in their faction.
a pug on csm is a (trigger warning!) HUGE difference from a pug on lsm.
    its....TREMENDOUS!
heh...anyway, what I noticed is: lsm has lots of roleplaying nerds, which is fine, except they seem to be more concerned with that than to understand the mechanism of the matches, they did not seem to understand timebonuses of cappoints etc.
there is virtually no activity on the teamchat, where in your average csm pug, people will communicate.
Thing is, if csm for example would be OP, we would be able to hold against co-ordinated clans, but when I've faced clans like PG, IF or Orki and WBZ, i and my pug homies get roflstomped just the same as my CSM clan roflstomps lsm pugs.

So Im willing to keep an open mind certain factions or classes or weapons might be indeed OP, but you also try to keep an open mind that the issue could be lack of teamwork instead.

Several times ive been playing with csm clan vs lsm pugs, only to read people crying about CSM being OP, when in game they just made dumbass mistakes, not understanding which points to hold (denying timebonus for attackers) and rather trying to recap a point thats already been capped before, not guarding their rhinos (maybe give bonus to encourage that behaviour, most pple abandon rhino in order to gain 400xp from cap, maybe give def-vehicle bonus?)

something to maybe keep in mind.

Here's my problem, Warlocks are suppose to be good in combat the witchblade is a no joke weapon and there's nothing anywhere that says they are anything but deadly in melee

The problem lies with the Banshee, the scream is suppose to stun people but instead it just gives you wobble cam. (in TT you can't shoot overwatch as banshees charge you, in old editions it made you strike last which meant they just carved you apart before you could act) The banshee is suppose to run faster and charge further than any other eldar but again they go the same speed. So is it surprising that when given none of the TT abilities that they get picked less than the Warlock?

If they had a quick charge, if the scream was actually good I certainly would play them because I like them a lot, but instead I play warlocks or striking scorpions. And in the instance of the striking scorpion the warlock does not outdo them at all.
  8. Since this is trending towards becoming a banshee thread...

The unique feature of the banshee is the scream. And the scream just needs an overhaul. It adds so little and a rework could give the banshee the something special it needs.

Yeah, I really think Banshee needs work. It wasn't so much that Warlock was steppin on its toes... it's that Banshee was terrible at its job.

What exactly did Banshee had over a Warlock? More Stamina and a scream you can't really use in battle? Meh.

I'd like the scream's range not to be the "already in combat" range. Maybe make it a cone instead of radial? And also let us use the damn thing while fighting. I can't always find time to stop clanging/evading to scream at someone.

Also, considering Eldar only have access to Powerswords, at least something could be done to alleviate this? Make Eldar powerswords have extra durability, so that they can have a fighting chance against maces/fists.
  10. Make it an AoE Effect around the Banshe. Not just one Screech and whoever was there is effected, but when you press that button for like 15 seconds every ENEMY (To clarify ENEMY, not your allies ) Get the effect of the scream.

I just can't help, but a long-range Scream for supression of ranged characters... ist just stupid to explain imo.
So make the effect more helpfull for banshees that are in combat.

Also, make the banshee faster. If you double-tap the sprint button, you consume 1 Stamina, but run even faster for a short while.

    Would that make banshees better?
