Exactly my thoughts since they implemented the Plasmacannon, woven into a video showing exactly what the whole community (save for the people who abuse it and don't want it nerfed for obvious reasons) rages about. But that combat knive... man, that was the real danger, good thing that's not gonna hurt anybody ever again -.-"
I do the same, have hours of footages for it. If you want to farm points, nothing's more relaxing than plasma canon. Melee is too tiresome and situation, but plasma canon is all weather farming. But for the BEST farming experience. Get a tactical with melta and melta grenade, and a plasma canon. Respawn depending on the situation. Vehicles parking outside? spawn as melta. Enemy rushing points? spawn as plasma. Easy farm easy life. The video really shows the lack of dynamic respawning point does to this game. Plasma canon just does spawn camping a bit easier. You can do it with autocanon, heavy bolter, grenades, or just a simple bolter.
Seriously? Another thread? Don't you all have the last 36 "nerf op pc" threads to shit fling in? The guy in the video was obviously a very experienced player. So much so that he had the respawn timer count memorized. His experience is not the general plasma cannon experience so don't tout this video around like it's the holy mecca of proof. Also I love how this thread took all of 2 pages to devolve into an off-topic bitch fest about the latest patch, and that none of you have offered suggestions on how to balance the weapon. This isn't even constructive criticism, it's the purest form of whining.
Today I accidently blew up 5 or 6 teams mates with a single plasma cannon blast. It let the other team cap a point too. Needless to say my team was not happy
Yeah, but if the Plasma stays the same, given enough time everybody will be experienced enough to do this.
Compare it to starshot. The RL only kills on a direct hit, the radius for just doing damage is smaller than the plasma cannon which one hit kills, and its instantly released after a charge up. If the plasma cannon only killed on a direct hit and did damage otherwise, plus, you couldn't overcharge with it, it would be a lot more balanced.
