A25 Mulch prepared to raise a fist in glory but the moment 'You win' was uttered several tranquilizer darts interrupted his glory and once more retainers came to drag him out to gather his prize, no fanfare or glory seeing as the locals weren't exactly thrilled with a xenos victory.
[OOC: Alright, good stuff. Task A25 is over, I paid out based on 200 credits/100 exp per win, and half as much for a loss.] NPC mission X1 complete. The NPCs returned with 2000 credits in payment. ++Mission Four, background++ ''Sir, we're in contact with the Mortal Vengeance,'' the comms officer said, turning to the man who had taken Harker prisoner. ''Very good. Patch me through,'' the man said. ''Who is this?'' the Vengeance's own comms officer asked. ''Give me Captain Ferrelian,'' the man demanded. ''Tell him it's Lucas Helrada.'' ''Lucas, ye salty git. What do ya want? How do ya even know I'm here?'' the captain asked. ''I have my ties. Now listen, I have one of your men, Harker I believe he was called. Found him sulking around these parts. My contacts tell me he's worth a pretty credit or two, to the Imperial Navy. But we're old friends, I thought it only fair to allow you a counter offer,'' Lucas said. ''What do ye want for him?'' the captain asked, with a sigh. ''One hundred thousand credits, delivered to me personally, by you.'' There was a mumble as the captain spoke to someone else. ''Okay,'' he said. ''Give me a couple of hours to get it together.'' ''Very well. End the transmission, Simon.'' ++Mortal Vengeance, briefing room++ ''Alright lads, listen up. There's a gobshite down there trying to ransom one of my own men back to me. His name is Lucas Helrada, he's richer than most star systems, but he's a greedy bastard. He wants a hundred thousand, in cash, delivered by me,'' the captain said, pacing the room. ''Obviously I won't be paying him. Instead, you lot will go in and grab him. Whilst yer there, smash his place up a little, maybe burn it down if ya get the chance. We'll teach the bastard who he's dealing with. Whilst you lot go in, I'll meet him as he asked. I'll stall him and then, when your distraction is created by breaking Harker out, the hired guns and I will pounce and take Lucas as a prisoner of our own.'' ''Any questions?''
"So let me get this straight," Razauil spoke while sitting with his legs crossed on a nearby chair, using a knife to clear the stale blood underneath his nails. "We are going to put all of our lives in the line for a simple Mon-keigh?" he sighed. "I just hope you would show the same resolve if any of us," he pointed at the rest of the team, "lesser beings suffer the same faith."
Torek was standing by the wall, bending right and then left from the waist up. He had coerced some very powerful painkillers from the arena medic before heading back to the ship, now he was testing just how powerful. Taking a moment during his stretch to nod at Razauil's sentiment, the Kroot reminisced about the kindness of humans to xenos such as him. "This man is wealthy? This compound we're laying waste to captain, would you like for us to grab anything on our way out? Other than your human."
Sticking to the shadows, Resh simply watched and thought as the briefing dragged on. Shame made her keep her mouth shut. While her black eye and almost-broken rib were healing, and she didn't even feel the concussion any more, the dirty defeat that clung onto her would not fade for some time.
Skullcrusha stood near the Kroot, standing still in a serious demeanor as he crossed his arms against his chest. He personally cared not what the Captain thought of them, nor the opinion of anyone else to that matter. All the Captain was good for was to lead them to bigger and better loot. While the mission the boss wished to send them on sounded like an intriguing challenge with plenty of sneaking and fighting, it sounded driveled of a beneficial payoff by the end of it. Silently, he watched the others speak before voicing his own concerns in a calm vocal tone. "With ya permission boss, we could loot the place right and proppa before breaking the humie git out of place wez be going too. I'm sure there'll be all kindz of treasure to be had for the lot of us."
Shi'Monat simply massaged the shoulders of Razauil as she was looking at the captain. "And we will be able to just run in there and kidnap him? I guess you are leaving us in the shadow regards his amount of guards, defensive systems and such a like?" The Tau asked suspiciously, somewhat with a sarcastic undertone.
Now Jalp was ready again, or so he belived, he would prove himself on this new mission, and he really looked forwards to trying his rippergun. He had nothing to add to the briefing, he would go with whatever plan the smart ones would figure out.
Davian had entered the briefing room he was looking better then the fighters then the arena. His face was still pale and his eyes were the orange color of his chapter. He his shock maul at his side with the suppressive shield on his back. "Well This will be interesting What kind of valuables do you think he will have? Also Razuil look at the bright side of this You will be able to grab more prisoners." Davian said with a odd smile.
Razauil placed his fingers onto Tau's hand, going up and down and pressing the nerve points in her skin which caused a tingling sensation in his friend. "Ah, Davian," the Dark Eldar smiled, "Now you speak like a true kinsmen! Perhaps I was able to share some of my influence onto you, since you spent so much time with my undeniably charismatic persona."
